JULY STOCK RISERS: Stretch 4 (2018)
JULY STOCK RISERS: Stretch 4 (2018)
Parker Braun, 6’8, PF, 2018, Blue Valley Northwest (Kan.) MoKan Elite
A long, rangy big man who holds his own in the paint at both ends of the floor, rebounds well and finishes above the rim. Braun has some ability as a perimeter shooter and could develop into a stretch 4 type with time. He received his first offer from Milwaukee at the end of the July period.
Joe Pleasant, 6’6, F, 2018, Blue Valley Northwest (Mo.) KC Run GMC
One of the real stock risers this offseason, Pleasant is a hybrid 3/4 type who brings a versatile skill set and the ability to do a lot of different things at the offensive end of the floor. He is good in the post and around the basket, can handle the ball and attack from the high post or the perimeter, but can also step out and shoot the 3. He has seen his stock rise after a strong summer with KC Run GMC and holds offers from Indiana State, Oral Roberts, Abilene Christian and Presbyterian.
Thomas Lipscomb, 6;8, F, 2018, Heritage Christian (Kan.) KC Pacers
Lipscomb is a long, rangy wing player who is at his best stroking 3-pointers from beyond the 3-point arc. He needs to get stronger, but is an active player at both ends of the floor and is a streaky shooter who has the ability to light up the scoreboard.
Luke Waters, 6’7, F, 2018, Olathe Northwest (Kan.) ONW Spurs
Waters is coming off a strong offseason with Olathe Northwest and has seen that success carry over this offseason with the ONW Spurs, He is a strong, physical forward with an inside-outside game, he can post up around the basket, step out and shoot from the perimeter with a smooth, repeatable strong and also put the ball on the floor. He’s drawing Division II interest and will likely find a home as a 3/4 hybrid type.
