Recruiting Report: JR Cison (2019)
Lake Zurich 2019 JR Cison is a 5’11” point guard that is a tough kid! He plays the point guard position with a ton of flair. What you have to like about this prospect is how well he passes the ball. Crisp ball handler that gets where he needs on the floor and once he blows by the defense is more than willing to kick to teammates for open threes or dump off passes.
Cison spoke about his July playing with Fundamental U where he got a high level of coaching and exposure playing at the Under Armour Finals.
“It has been going really well. This summer I joined Coach Weinstein and Fundamental U. We went to UAA Finals and I played well there and we did good as a team.”
What has been the area he has seen the most improvement in his skill set?
“I would say my jump shot has gotten better since the high school season.”
How did June go with his new high school team at Lake Zurich after transferring over from St. Viator where he played his first two seasons?
“It went really well. I think we could be really well with Ryan Kutsor and others. It was really fun coming back to my hometown.”
Cison updated us on where his recruitment stands.
“A few Ivy League schools like Columbia and Brown have contacted me. Rider has contacted me.”
He closed out the month averaging 17 points and 5.5 dimes game at the Big Foot Tournament in Las Vegas.
