Recruiting Report: Ahmad Muhammad (2018)
St. Joseph’s 2018 point guard Ahmad Muhammad finished up his travel team career running with Chicago Lockdown in July. The lead guard is a solid shooter and does a nice job distributing to his teammates. Should find a home as a solid D3/NAIA prospect.
Muhammad spoke about his strengths as a player.
“I have a great IQ and that is biggest thing that helps me out. I know when to shoot, pass, and when to run the team on both the offensive and defensive end. My smarts really helps me out.”
How was his junior year at St. Joe’s?
“It was and up and down year. We were excited we got Coach (Gene) Pingatore his 1,000 win. That was the biggest thing. We have to learn from last year and be better for next year because our goal is to get to state as seniors.”
What does he see his role being next year as a senior?
“My role is to be a leader and a floor general. Talk guys through things. I have been to state before. I have been on varsity for three seasons already so I should be very seasoned by now.”
He told us what he will bring to a team in college.
“At the next level I can bring leadership and I am a winner.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“A couple D2’s have reached out including Sioux Falls and Ferris State.”
