Grayson Green (2018): Prospect Spotlight
Cleveland Heights always seems to have big time athletes and this year is no different. Yahel Hill (2018) is one of the top point guards in the state and Tyreke Smith is a 4-star college football prospect as a pass rusher supreme.
But there is a lot more talent on the Tigers’ roster. That group is led by Grayson Green (2018) a 6’2” wing. Green is a four-year starter and is an intriguing prospect. He can rebound, defend at a high level and is also a crafty inside scorer who can handle the ball.
“He can play all five position on the floor and he’s aggressive,” said Mark Chapman, who coached Heights’ summer league team in the Earl Boykins Summer League.
Defensively, his long arms allow him to create turnovers. He’s also going to play football this fall.
“I feel like I can play all five positions on the floor. I can guard a point guard or guard a big,” said Green.
A southpaw, offensively he likes to get his teammates involved and has the ability to find the open man off the dribble in the half court set. He’s also experienced entering his fourth year as a varsity starter.
“I’ve learned leadership, how to get my teammates involved and work in a system,” Green said of what he’d bring to a college a program.
Green said he’d like to major in business in college and is playing football this fall because he hasn’t decided yet what sport he’d want to play in college.
Green’s high school coach, Jeremy Holmes, said he believes Green could play at the D-3 level, D-2 and even at Division 1 in the right situation.
“He’s very crafty around the basket with both hands, great defender and rebounder,” Holmes said.
