Prep Hoops takes a look at some shot makers from all levels in this article.
Bradley Childers (2018) – Gaffney HS / Upward Upstate White 17U
Childers was a work horse all weekend for his squad. Childers 5’11 combo guard can attack the rack from the top of the key on a consistent basis. Childers a catch-shoot guy had several games of over 20+ this week.
Trey Smith (2019) – Landrum HS / Upward Stars Upstate White 16U
Smith a left-handed guard has a sweet sweet stroke. Smith just a junior is a productive shooter and shoots it at a high percentage. Smith averaged 25.9 ppg last season for the Cardinals. Landrum is located on SC/NC border north of Spartanburg.
Nick Agapion (2019) – Gaffney HS / Upward Stars Upstate Silver 16U
Agapion had a great tourney connecting on 12 three pointers in 3 games during the event. Agapion will look to see more minutes this season on the Indians roster. Agapion of Greek descent has a great looking stroke and never seemed to force anything.
Zay Martin (2019) – Northwestern HS (Rock Hill) / Upward Stars York County (pictured on front)
Martin 6’3 shooting guard is a great catch-shoot player. Martin with a very fluid stroke likes working both corners of the floor for his shot. Martin has good size and seems to be a great teammate always talking and cheering on his teammates.
Damon McDowell (2017) – Carolina Forest HS (Myrtle Beach) / Flight 22 Select (UNSIGNED SENIOR)
McDowell a 6’3 slender-sleek athlete had a good showing here at the Baden I-85 Circuit Finals. McDowell a left-handed guard sees the floor well and is not afraid to pull-up from 25 feet coming down the floor. McDowell played a short season this past year for the Panthers. McDowell might need to entertain junior college options.
The Baden I-85 Circuit Finals had over 10 teams under the Upward Stars umbrella in the event.
