2017 Battle of Seattle Tournament Standouts
Here are some of the top performers in this past weekends tournament held in Seattle, Washington. If you wasn’t there you truly missed out. With team like Seattle Rotary, Washington Supreme, Team Bradley and NW Panthers. Pacific Northwest talent was on full display.
Class of 2018 6’3 guard Casson Rouse of Seattle Rotary 17U was on of the top players in the tournament. The soon to be Olympia High School grad has a serious handle and pull up jump shot. He has a good feel for the game and can change speed and direction at the drop of a dime. I was mainly impressed with his ability to defend at a high clip.
Class of 2019 6’1 guard Charles Elzie III of Seattle High Academic is a quick guard who was all over the floor, he was one of the leaders for Seattle High Academic this year and it doesn’t take long to see why. He’s added athleticism and has an overall nice IQ for the game, most importantly he’s a very coachable young man.
Class of 2018 6’3 guard Niko Clark of Prospects 17U has a long and lanky body type and has improved in various ways including knocking down the outside shot. He can get to his spots with minimal dribbling and can defend players at multiple positions. Heading into the Live Viewing period here in July. He will be looked on to score the ball at a decent rate from the wing.
Class of 2018 6’3 guard Marcus Austin of Seattle Rotary EYBL 17u is so exciting to watch and I can reiterate enough how much I enjoy watching this youngster playing. The reason is because he plays the game not only with a high IQ but with a certain level of passion that you just don’t see these days.
Class of 2018 6’6 forward Collin Kelley of Northwest Panthers is a very long and athletic forward who is starting to develop a solid perimeter game. He stepped up big time for his team in whenever their opposition went on a run, he brings a worker mentality and doesn’t mind doing whatever it takes to win, the more we see him play, the more skill and potential he shows us.
