Dane Hagler Dane Hagler 6'4" | SG North Star | 2024 ND (2024) |6’4 SG| North Star
The Bearcats were dominant in the game against West Fargo. Hagler was putting on a dunking display. Dane had multiple 2-handed WHAMs in transition. He created turnovers with anticipation and quick hands. Hagler did a nice job of passing the ball as well. He was great at pushing the ball ahead in transition and he delivered a beautiful high-low pass.
Hunter Hagler Hunter Hagler 6'3" | SF North Star | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’3 SF| North Star
He did not look like he just finished his freshmen year. Hagler is long, lean, and tough. He is a gifted athlete that hustles and plays hard. Hunter moves well and he cuts with a purpose. He finished well in traffic, scored after contact, displayed excellent body control, and he showed a soft finishing touch.
Amari Taylor Amari Taylor 6'5" | SF Fargo South | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’4 F| Fargo South
He stood out with his size, length, long wingspan, and how well he elevated for rebounds. Taylor was effective on the boards and he scored around the rim. Amari looks to have plenty of potential.
Jay Neubert Jay Neubert 6'2" | SG Sauk Centre | 2024 State MN (2024) |6’2 G| Sauk Centre
The Mainstreeter and MN Fury star was absolutely fantastic. Against Grand Forks Central, Neubert went off for 36 points and hit 4 triples in a row at one point. Jay is a playmaker in the shuffle offense, is marvelous at creating space, and is super skilled. You only have to see Neubert shoot once to know that he has a pure stroke. Neubert is a DUDE!.
Ben Bockman (2024) |6’4 SF| Decorah (IA)
He look like a smooth shooter from beyond the arc. Bockman is long and he is a gifted scorer. He looked talented in the catch-n-shoot game. Ben spaced the floor, spotted up, and he delivered. He was also impressive when he ripped and slashed baseline for a bucket. Bockman is crafty and clever. I loved when he drove middle, jump-stopped, pivoted to create space, and scored with a fall-away jumper.
Treyton McCain (2024) |6’1 PG| Decorah (IA)
He is a creator and facilitator. McCain is a quick and explosive athlete. Trey runs the show and he gets his team into their offense. McCain was fantastic at slashing, drawing help, and kicking to shooters. Trey is greatly skilled and a complete playmaker. He was also awesome at executing sets.
Karson Ouse Karson Ouse 6'8" | SF Kindred | 2025 State #283 Nation ND (2025) |6’7 G/F| Kindred
He looks better and better every time that I see him play. Karson’s arms seem to never end. Ouse makes the game look easy, he is crafty, and he plays with a calm demeanor. Karson was smooth shooting the ball from beyond the arc and he was productive on the glass. I am always impressed with his skill level.
Brooks Bakko Brooks Bakko 6'4" | PG Kindred | 2027 State ND (2027) |6’3 PG| Kindred
He plays very mature for his age and he is well put together. Bakko is a rare athlete and he is talented with the ball in his hands. Bakko looked good slashing and scoring. I was impressed with how quickly he got to the rim. Brooks has a bright future in the game of basketball.
Parker Jacobson Parker Jacobson 6'2" | CG Washburn | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’1 G| Washburn
When watching him shoot around before the game, Jacobson rarely missed. Parker has a feathery-soft release. He is lethal in the catch-n-shoot game. I was impressed with how Jacobson moves around the perimeter, reacts to his defender, and how he finds the space for his shots. Parker is deadly from 3-point land.
Jake Starcevic Jake Starcevic 6'2" | SF Kindred | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’2 SG| Kindred
He is new at Kindred and Starcevic is going to be a great new player for the Vikings. Jake is a strong athlete that can make plays above the rim, off the bounce, and he can shoot it. Jake can lead the break in transition and also make plays passing the ball. Starcevic showed an effective pull-up J from mid-range. He showed off on the defensive side of the ball by picking off passes. The Vikings were going to be tough next season, now they are flat out scary with the addition of Starcevic.
Alex Retterath Alex Retterath 6'1" | SG Washburn | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’1 G| Washburn
He is a scorer! Alex can produce from every level. He is a skilled and natural scorer with a great feel for the game. Alex scores with ease and he takes what the defense gives him. Retterath is skilled, opportunistic, and he has a shooters touch.
Ethan Retterath Ethan Retterath 6'1" | SF Washburn | 2027 State ND (2027) |6’1 SF| Washburn
He is young but Ethan has already started in a varsity game. I like his confidence on the court. Retterath does most of his scoring damage around the basket. He might be young but Ethan is a standout defender. that is always battling on the defensive end of the floor. He is a versatile player that can matchup with multiple positions. Ethan is crafty and skilled. He is a player to keep eyes on this winter, I like Retterath’s potential.
Luke Johnson Luke Johnson 6'5" | PF Oak Grove | 2024 ND (2024) |6’5 PF| Oak Grove
He has a fluid stroke, Luke cashed in catch-n-shoot triples. He showed off his versatility when grabbing rebounding and leading the break going the other way. Johnson was also driving and dishing out to shooters. Luke was aggressive and productive on the glass. He was good about drawing contact and he got to the line often. Johnson continues to show improvement. This Grover is always getting better.
