Woodford has had a very up and down season but they have all the tools to win the 8th region if they are playing at their best. One tool that the Jackets have and most in Kentucky don’t is a 6’10 big man in

. Carson is a good rim protector and capable of finishing around the rim. He is having a solid season and can be a difference maker in the postseason.

Probst is a late bloomer who continues to develop and is getting better and better over the last couple of years. Carson is an above average shot blocker and his offensive game continues to improve. He’s not afraid to step up and shoot it, either. Scholarship level schools should be headed to Versailles to see Probst this season.

Probst is a dominant force inside. He can score over defenders and rise up for a dunk. He controls the glass on both ends. His ability to contest and block shots prevents easy baskets for the opposition.

One of my favorite “high upside” prospects in the 25 class, Carson has that thing you cannot teach, legit size. Probst is a high academic big man who is starting to find a little bit of a mean streak and that’s the best thing for him. If I were a high academic college or university, I’d be recruiting him already.

Woodford made a run to Rupp Arena last season after John McCrear returned from injury to give them a post presence as well as rim protection and rebounding.

will look to do the same this season after spending the summer growing into his body and getting more and more reps on the court. Probst is a legitimate 6’10 with a nearly 7 foot wingspan and he keeps improving. Woodford will be guard heavy but Carson can provide them a legitimate post presence as well as much needed rebounding help.

Carson was the biggest prospect at camp. He measured a legitimate 6’10 1/2″ with a 6’10 wingspan and looks like his frame has plenty of room to add some bulk moving forward. Probst is at the point where he may be done growing and is becoming more coordinated. As a result, his best basketball is all ahead of him and he could see his stock take off over the next 12-18 months.

The oldest saying in basketball is that you can’t teach size and that’s the case with Carson. A late bloomer, Probst is still getting adjusted to his bigger frame and adding to his skill set. If he were a stock, you would want to invest some long term money in his shot blocking ability as well as his touch around the bucket. Keep an eye on Probst for a breakout season.
