Omari has been one of my favorite players in the class since we started covering it and he was named a top performer in the NXT Pro circuit over the weekend. Jointer is a top athlete in this class, holding offers in both basketball and football. As explosive as he is, Jointer is going to end up being a D1 athlete, one way or another.

Jointer was the recipient of an offer from TCU just a couple of days ago but he’s also gotten the eye of football programs with his ability as a wide receiver.

Omari is coming off of a fantastic Junior season where he led Woodford County to a really strong year and made the regional semifinals. Jointer is a downhill driver who gets into the paint consistently and is an above average finisher when he gets to the rim. Omari shoots it just well enough to keep defenses honest. He recently earned his first D1 offer and could have more coming his way soon.

Despite the loss, Jointer was easily the most dominant player across the two games on Monday night. Single-handily carrying his team back into the game, Jointer had to do just about everything for Woodford County to even remain competitive for three and a half quarters. Jointer opened the game with a euro-step finish with his right hand on the left side of the rim and also scored off a scramble play where the ball found him. I loved how Jointer got to his spots in transition, rising up for a couple smooth free-throw line jumpers when North Oldham tried to build a wall at the rim to prevent him from getting all the way to the basket. Banking in two 3-pointers in this one, Jointer got a couple friendly bounces on the outside on Monday night. While Jointer is also a talented football player, basketball programs should also be recruiting him hard at the low to mid major level this summer.

Omari moves back up a couple of spots now that he’s healthy and on the court again. Jointer is leading Woodford in nearly every statistical category this season and is showing he’s one of the best slashing guards in the class. In order to reach his ceiling, Omari has to shoot the three ball better as he’s only attempting about one three per game. Eventually, teams will lay back and take their chances with him shooting the three. I still think Jointer’s long term potential is amongst the top in the class.

Woodford County gave Daviess County all they could handle in the opening round, falling just short of pulling off the upset. Jointer is one of the best downhill athletes in Kentucky and has the positional size and strength to overpower other guards. A force in transition, when Jointer gets a head of steam he is tough to stop from getting downhill. The biggest thing for Jointer as a basketball prospect will be developing a consistent 3-point shot so defenders can’t go under screens and force him to beat him with a jumper. While he’s also an extremely talented football player, Jointer has the talent to be a Division I basketball player as well.

Back after missing his Sophomore season, Jointer is primed for a big season. Omari is a dangerous downhill driver who is also an excellent finisher. He’s still not a great three point shooter but Omari shoots it well enough to keep defenses honest. I think Omari is the most under-recruited Junior in Kentucky.

Moving back into the top ten overall, Omari could be even higher before long. After missing his Sophomore season after a knee injury, it’s good to see Jointer back on the court and healthy. He’s starting to see his stock take off on the football field as a wide receiver but I’m a big believer in Omari’s prospects as a big guard at the college level.

Omari was limited to only 1 game this past season due to injury but had a really strong showing on the AAU circuit this spring. Jointer has big time potential in both football and basketball with D1 upside in both sports. With Woodford reloading for this season, it looks like a lot of their season will be up to Jointer to carry the team.

Jointer fell out of the top ten only because he missed almost his entire Sophomore season with a knee injury. When he’s at his best, Omari is an explosive athlete who attacks the rim with the best of them. Believed to be 100% for AAU season, I’m excited to see ho back at his best.
