He's a high-level shot creator and maker that should see his stock continue to rise since earning offers from Florida State, Indiana, Seton Hall and Maryland to close out the weekend. He did well in isolation and in their sets to get to his spots off the bounce and make things happen, especially in the midrange area. He's a master creator in isolation that can fill it up in a hurry and coaches are taking notice. He finished with 17 points on 7/10 FG, 1/4 3PT with eight rebounds, four assists and a steal in their opening game on Saturday of Session I. He continues to co-exist with two future ACC commits as they pushed their record to 2-0 with another game to go on Saturday. It was a close battle but Powell kept applying pressure on both ends until he broke through, finishing with 19 points, 8 rebounds, three assists and two steals, showcasing his ability to lead by example with his play. Powell did a masterful job of taking what the defense gave him, so to speak, in an efficient outing to lead the charge for Team CP3. He's got tremendous footwork and athleticism around the painted area that was on display. He even showed off his passing ability out of the post and on the perimeter. He's an impressive big man that knows how to utilize his size in a variety of ways to make things happen on the floor. He did well to score around the rim and utilized his size well to be a presence for Boo Williams.
