Melton has seen his stock grow on the gridiron as he plays football for Pinecrest High but he’s also just as effective on the hardwood. He’s a strong, athletic finisher who isn’t afraid to play physical and establish position in the paint to make things happen with his length and athleticism. He’s got a strong junior season on the horizon after a productive grassroots season with Garner Road Select.

Elijah Melton Elijah Melton 6'6" | PF Pinecrest | 2025 State NC is a model of consistency in the GRBC Select frontcourt with his ability to rebound the ball and finish around the rim. He’s an athletically-sound prospect at 6-foot-5 that plays with a ton of strength with the ball in his hands in the paint. He finished with 10.0 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.0 apg in their run to the title game and showed poise as a prospect that can make things happen with or without the ball in his hands. DI and DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him.

He’s a strong-framed prospect that plays with a ton of athleticism on both ends of the floor. He’s been a pivotal piece in Garner Road Select’s rotation in pushing them to a 22-0 record with his play. As he shows he can knock down shots in the mid-range and on the perimeter, look for his stock to grow in the 2025 class.

Melton was really impressive to me as his Garner Road 2025’s interior presence this morning. He’s super active around the rim and on the perimeter altering shots, he’s got long arms and is quick enough to catch up to people. In transition he runs the floor very hard in order to be down low and finish rim runs and layups. He extended his range out to 15 feet when I watched him, knocking down a free throw line jumper off an interior drive. He doesn’t have a lot in the way of post moves, but his physicality is enough for him to stay on the court as a scorer alone. If he keeps growing he will be a premier player in his class.
