The weekend of March 24th I attended the Hoopers On1y Kings of the City at the Phhacility and the Kroc Center plus five different other locations around the city in AZ.

I watched a lot of 15 and 16U with some 17U games as well. This was one of the biggest events AZ has had in a while with 400+ teams from the Southwest.

Here are some of the Best Shooters I observed

[player_tooltip player_id='1875407' first='Zach' last='Cutler'] AZ College Prep (AZ Pelicans 16) (Pictured)

One of the better shooters I viewed in the freshman class this weekend. He makes good decisions and smartly relocates to open spots on the floor. He gets balanced quickly and lets it fly from beyond the three point line. He may end up starting for ACP next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875304' first='Crew' last='Swearingen'] Corona del Sol (Uptempo Hoops Elite)

A rising senior is finding his groove. He may be a breakout candidate for the Aztecs and he is a very good shooter. He can create his own offense off the dribble and rise up from mid to the three point line. He has a stocky frame to get into the paint to score and plays with confidence.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482166' first='John' last='Fahrendorf'] St. Mary's (Zona Nation 15)

A catch and shoot sniper can rattle them in from deep one by one. He has a quick release from the three point line and it is rare that you see him take a forced shot. He has great size for a two-guard and thinks the game from the neck up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1390361' first='Keon' last='Talgo'] Gilbert Christian (AZ Storm 17 Gold)

A straight gunner from the perimeter. He can catch and shoot with the best of them from both levels but has toughness. He rebounds well in his area and can defend bigger players with his strength. He should be a force in 3A next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464983' first='Mick' last='Riordan'] Boulder Creek

An incoming freshman is very skilled and crafty. He has solid length and size for his position. His best skill is clearly his shooting. He squares like you should and it is very clean every attempt. It wouldn't shock me for him to get some run on varsity immediately with many senior shooters graduating.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875357' first='Carter' last='Pendleton'] Willow Canyon

A lefty guard is comfortable on or off the ball. He is a knockdown corner shooter. He catches and shoots from the three point line quickly. He plays a cerebral brand of ball and he doesn't force any bad shots. He moves the ball and is a good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1768402' first='Jackson' last='Schorr'] Canyon View (AZ Venom)

A good shooter has range and a quick release. He can create a little for himself and has quick hands to play the passing lanes. He can pull-up from mid-range and use the floater. He was one of their freshman team standouts of the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598395' first='David' last='Leszczynski'] Paradise Honors (Team Rise N Grind)

A good shooter who plays a cerebral brand of ball. He is a true combo guard as he can rise up from mid-range off the dribble but then will throw up the court pass in stride to a teammate. He also has range on his triples. He has immense confidence, and just in the last year, he has improved his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1754270' first='AJ' last='Remo'] Perry (Gremlins)

The teams floor spacer is a three point specialist with range. He runs the floor well for transition layups and plays within the flow of the offense. When he gets his opportunities he is releasing the ball quickly off his hands. On a loaded Pumas roster, it is possible he can come in on varsity and keep the defense honest to not pack it in too much.
