Saturday March 11 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento CA. Division IV, II and the Open were all display. It was SoCal versus NorCal to determine California State Champions. We have a list of the top 2024 prospects from Saturday our only day there.
Trent Perry Trent Perry 6'4" | PG Harvard-Westlake | 2024 State #70 Nation CA-S 6’4 CG, Harvard-Westlake
Perry excelled on the big stage. He put together an all-around performance that puts him in the running as one of California’s top guards prospects. He dominated play up top with his play making skills. He made it a point to involve everyone on the court, with his decision making, vision and passing. He can get his own shot as well, with quality handles, and nifty footwork. He flirted with a triple double. 15pts, 10asts, 7rebs, 2stls.
Robert Hinton Robert Hinton 6'4" | CG Harvard-Westlake | 2024 State #147 Nation CA-S 6’5 CG Harvard-Westlake
Hinton played a good overall game, he’s a nightmare in transition and open court with his size and handles. He’s a threat to go coast to coast whenever he gets the ball. He plays with balance, and control to pull-up for mid-range jumpers all over the court, short corners, in transition, or from the free throw area. He has solid handles, a good passer, he plays good defense. 8pts.
Bryce Bedgood Bryce Bedgood 6'9" | PF Valencia | 2024 State CA-S 6’9 F, Valencia
He’s a long wiry prospect still filling his frame. He has every right to improve as a prospect. He has that bouncy energy to go after everything with his long reach, rebounds, blocks, and lobs. He’s a good court runner after rebounding, and just filling transition lanes. He finishes his shots around the rim with dunks, and good touch. He can hit the free throw jumper. He rebounds on both ends. He put together a double, double in the state game. 22pts, 13rebs, 3blks.
Dre Davis 6’7 PF, San Joaquin Memorial.
He’s a solid body prospect that can play forward or center at this level. He carries himself well, with good balance. He can stick the short jumper, use a dribble or two to get into the paint. He has the muscle to get his way inside the paint, he plays well off two feet. He’s a solid defender, a good passer. He knocked down a couple of 3’s, one at the buzzer. 8pts, 3rebs, 1a.
Alex Stuart 6’6 Forward, Pacifica Christian
He’s a solid body forward who uses his bulk to back down defenders from the mid-post using one or two dribbles, spinning and getting right to the rim, he’s strong going up off two. He can score on either side of the court with the back down move. At 6’6 he’s a solid rebounder with good passing skills. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List. He didn’t play his best, but there’s plenty to work with in this prospect. 6pts, 2rebs, 1stl.
Jaeden Hutchins Jaeden Hutchins 6'8" | PF Prolific Prep | 2024 State CA-N 6’8 F, Half Moon Bay
Hutchins was well on his way to making this a closely contested game. He hit two corners 3’s in the first quarter, had a couple of dunks off two underneath, 2 rebs, 1 block. He sustained an injury during the second quarter and couldn’t finish. He’s a rising prospect in the NorCal 2024 Class. He was the leading scorer and rebounder on this team. His productive season got them to the state title game.
Jacob Michel-zavala 6’0 CG, Valencia
There’s always a quality player on the bench of a state title contending team. Michel-zavala played well in this role coming off the bench. He plays well in transition, he hit a couple of long 3’s, made good transition passes for assists. he worked to disrupt on the defensive side. 8pts, 2 rebs, 2asts, 1stl.
Christian Horry Christian Horry 6'4" | SF Harvard-Westlake | 2024 State CA-S 6’3 Guard, Harvard-Westlake
He came in and knocked down a 3ptr for his only points of the game. He played good defense for his time on the court. We know he’s a solid prospect who we’ll have to get a better look at in the spring and summer. He’s has the size and the athleticism to be contributor on the court. He’s on our Watch List.
