Just like the point guard position we have a lot of talent at the shooting guard position for 2025 and will look to improve and do great things heading into their Junior years. Many of these players can do it all on the hardwood which is why I feel there are some players at this point for this class who get overshadowed from the top of the rankings. Here are my five underrated shooting guards for 2025.
Fuerbacher is a defensive-minded player at the shooting guard position disrupting offenses at any chance. He can spread the floor out on the offensive end with a nice-looking shot from downtown. Fuerbacher is also a player that will crash the glass every time a shot goes up which he uses to his advantage for second-chance points or to draw fouls to get his team into the bonus. His inside game is efficient as he can score in the paint confidently while hitting the pull-up midrange shot.
Highlights
Hudson gets most of his points from inside the painted area. He has a strong upper body that allows him to finish through contact with anyone. With that strong upper body comes his quick first step off the dribble which gives him that opportunity to drive into the paint and score at will. Hudson likes to push the pace and play fast as he is always moving the ball up the floor to keep the defense from getting set. His defensive skills are amazing being a lockdown defender making him a legit two-way player with only more room to grow heading into next season.
Curley has a fast smooth jump shot in which he needs just the smallest amount of space to let it fly from downtown. His range is already in play the second he takes a step past the half-court line forcing the defense to key up on him closer than they would other players. He is a tremendous passer that makes smart decisions for his team and is always looking for ways to get open. Curley has an underrated finishing ability to his game as he can surprise defenses taking them off the dribble to the rim because of his deadly three-point shot.
Semiraglio is a highly productive spot-up catch-and-shoot three-point shooter that always seems to be running off of off-ball screens to get himself open looks from beyond the arc. He hustles and dives after every loose ball he can and will never take a play off for his team. Semiraglio is a pickpocket maestro that will strip the ball clean if you try to size him up and take him off the dribble. One thing I feel Semiraglio should do more is to score in the midrange/painted area as it can elevate his game to another level.
Highlights
Goldman’s box score may not jump out to you but his game has all the makings of a breakout star just waiting to be given a bigger opportunity. He is a terrific catch-and-shoot shooter from beyond and never stops moving looking to get open any chance he can get. Goldman also can put the ball on the floor with quick tight handles and should look to do this more often. On the defensive side, he moves his feet well locking up and staying in front of quicker guards than him giving him the potential to be a great two-way player once next season rolls around.
