Nolan Paladugu Nolan Paladugu 6'3" | CG Shannon Forest | 2023 State SC and Jordyn McKeen Jordyn McKeen 5'9" | CG Cane Bay | 2023 State SC have decided on schools for next season. The duo will play their basketball at USC-Beaufort in the Lowcountry ‘ last=”]. Paladugu is looking to lead Shannon Forest a SCISA Class 3A to a State Championship in Sumter later this month. Nolan a left-handed guard has been the catalyst all season long on this SENIOR dominated squad.
McKeen a left-handed guard just like Paladugu won’t have to travel far down the road from Cane Bay HS to play next season. McKeen is a quick guard with the ability to touch the paint and make shots on the perimeter. Where else will the Sand Sharks a NCAA D2 program strike next?
1,000 Points and More: ALL UNSIGNED SENIORS
Trai White Trai White 5'10" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2023 State SC makes the engine go for the Gray Collegiate War Eagles. White a jet quick point guard has scored 1,504 career points. Trai is the highest available UNSIGNED Senior in the class.
Randy Gibson Randy Gibson 6'1" | PG Scott's Branch | 2023 State SC has played in the past 3 SCHSL Class 1A State Championship Games for the Scott’s Branch HS Eagles. Nicknamed “RJ” Gibson a left-handed guard who leaves it all out on the floor was recently named Region Player of the Year for the Eagles. Gibson currently has scored 1,137 career points heading in the playoffs this week.
Jalen Jefferson Jalen Jefferson 6'2" | CG North | 2023 State SC has played varsity basketball for 6 seasons. Jefferson started his career at North HS from 7th-10th grade before playing at Gray Collegiate as a junior. Jefferson a left-handed combo guard is back at North HS this season and averaging 25.3 ppg for the Eagles. Jalen has scored 1,406 career points between the two schools (1,164 North HS and 242 Gray Collegiate)
Horaces Jacques Horaces Jacques 6'2" | PG Orangeburg-Wilkinson | 2023 State SC and the Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS Bruins will be looking to get back to the Class 3A State Championship Game again this season. Jacques a very athletic guard has scored 1,058 career points and is currently averaging 15.2 ppg this season.
Ali Khan Ali Khan 6'2" | SG HighPoint Academy | 2023 State SC enters the playoffs this week with 1,079 career points according to High Point Academy Head Coach Jacob Smith. Khan has been very instrumental over the years building the Grizzlies program up.
Justin Daniels Justin Daniels 6'2" | PG Manning | 2023 State SC is an electrifying for the Manning HS Monarchs. Daniels and his teammates prepare for an opening round playoff game vs Camden HS this week. Daniels a Quarterback in the fall or a scoring guard in the winter will have to decide on a sport for college. Justin is averaging 24.7 ppg, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals this season. He currently has scored 1,270 career points.
Brushaurd Young Brushaurd Young 6'6" | PF Denmark-Olar | 2023 State SC helped the Denmark-Olar HS Vikings to a (22-4) regular season. Young a combo forward eclipsed the 1,000 point club recently and now has scored 1,008 career points. Young is averaging 20.7 ppg, 12.2 rebounds and 3.7 blocks this season. He has gathered 553 rebounds in his career.
Big Seasons – Just Under The Radar:
Myles Squirewell Myles Squirewell 6'6" | PF Lakewood | 2023 State SC has made the most of his new situation this season. Squirewell a power forward has made a nice transition over to Lakewood HS from Ridge View HS. Myles is averaging 19.3 ppg and 12.8 rebounds and helping the Gators get to the playoffs in Class 3A. The Gators will travel to Horry County and play an always tough Loris HS Lions squad.
Chrisean Oree Chrisean Oree 6'3" | CG Keenan | 2023 State SC and the Keenan HS Raiders will be a #2 seed in the Class 2A playoffs. Oree a combo guard has scored 809 career points in a Raiders uniform. Oree can really take over a game in a hurry at times with his ability to score the rock.
Johnell Sindab Johnell Sindab 6'1" | SG Mullins | 2023 State SC helped the Mullins HS Auctioneers to a region championship while putting up some big numbers this season. Sindab currently has scored 794 career points and would have gotten to 1,000 points if it wasn’t for Covid and the Pandemic the past few years. Sindab is averaging 20.1 ppg this season while scoring 33 points not just once but twice against county rival Marion HS the past few weeks.
Elijah Hall Elijah Hall 6'0" | CG North Augusta | 2023 State SC and Amarri Wilcher Amarri Wilcher 6'2" | CG North Augusta | 2023 State SC have the North Augusta HS Yellow Jackets perfect on the season at (26-0). Hall is a stat sheet stuffer and has scored 715 career points while Wilcher has added 639 points. Wilcher keeps defenders honest with his ability to knockdown shots behind the arc. Can the Yellow Jackets make a run in Class 4A to USC-Aiken for the State Championship? Just 14 miles away from the North Augusta campus to USC-Aiken.
Malachi Stevens Malachi Stevens 6'4" | SF Oceanside Collegiate | 2023 State SC and Makhi Rivers Makhi Rivers 5'10" | PG Oceanside Collegiate | 2023 State SC have the Oceanside Collegiate Landsharks heading into the right direction. The Landsharks open the playoffs with Kingstree HS this week at home. Stevens has scored 750 career points while Rivers has dropped 745 points. Stevens a versatile guard-wing is averaging 13.3 ppg and 5 rebounds while Rivers a point guard is averaging 9.7 ppg and 4.6 assists.
