Carolinas Cup – Sunday Standouts Pt 1
Prep Hoops spent Sunday at the Carolinas Cup in Spartanburg, SC.
Magic Moody (2019) Greer HS GSP Unified
Moody 5’10 point guard also plays for South Carolina Supreme on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit. Moody runs the offense for the GSP Unified. Moody who played his first few years of high school basketball at Spartanburg Day School with Zion Williamson played this past season at Greer HS. Moody didn’t score much today but he did dish out the ball to his teammates.
Delmar Moore (2018) Greer HS GSP Unified
Moore 6’6 forward is running this weekend with GSP Unified since his other team South Carolina Supreme is taking the month off of May. Moore works block to block in the paint and shows a nice mid-range game. Moore had 17 points in the win.
Jayden Byrd (2020) High Point Academy (Spartanburg) Carolina Chargers (photo on the front)
Byrd 5’11 guard can shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor. Byrd is quick with the ball. Byrd made some tough shots today with a defender in his face. Byrd shows to have a quick shot release. Byrd his small high school in scoring last season and to the playoffs last year Byrd scored 19 points in the win over Upward Stars Upstate Blue.
Luke Gilsdorf (2020) Dorman HS Carolina Chargers
Gilsdorf 6’1 left-handed shooting guard made several shots today. Gilsdorf connected on some three pointers and showed a nice mid-range game for the Carolina Chargers. Gilsdorf who’s home-schooled plays for his father here on the Chargers will look to play at Dorman HS this fall.
Drayton Benjamin (2020) Spartanburg HS – Carolina Chargers
Benjamin 6’4 plays inside the paint for the Chargers. Benjamin has good length and plays with his back to the basket. Benjamin plays very active on both ends of the floor.
