Douglass is surging at the right time. Winners of 19 in a row, the Broncos are a legitimate threat to win the 11th region. The Sophomore class gets a lot of the highlights but Kai is the steady hand at the point guard spot who runs the show. Simpson is a big guard and a good athlete who recently added a D2 offer from Montevallo. He’s going to be a late signing that will make some coach look smart.
After missing the first half of the season recovering from an ACL tear, Walter is back and picked up where he left off, averaging double doubles. Walter is averaging 21 points and 14 rebounds on the season and shooting 57% from the field and 39% from three. Campbell is still getting his athleticism back but he’s got all the tools to be an impact player in college.
Marquez is kind of like Kai Simpson Kai Simpson 6’3″ | PG Frederick Douglass | 2023 State KY in the sense that the younger players on their team get the headlines but Miller is the most consistent of the bunch. Miller is averaging 15 and 7 and has shown the ability to score the ball from 18 feet and in consistently. He also has the physical tools to be a lockdown defender when he wants to be. He’ll be a steal for a D2/NAIA school.
This may be recency bias because I just watched him play really well last night but Simmons is a tough guard who can play on or off the ball and gets into the paint when he wants. Simmons is also a good defender who can keep about anyone in front of him and has quick hands that can get deflections. Whatever school he signs with will have a high potential guard to work with.
Another high potential guard, Miles is skilled and a good athlete who can get buckets from anywhere on the court. Franklin can get to the rim or catch and shoot from three where he’s shooting 40% from deep. He’s had to play Robin to Gabe Sisk Gabe Sisk 6’6″ | SF Ballard | 2023 State KY ‘s Batman this season but Miles is a good prospect in his own right and at one point claimed an offer from Toledo.
One of the more overlooked 2023 prospects, Sparks has been a big part of the Lexington Catholic roster that sits at 25-2 and on top of the 11th region. A long wing who is putting up shooting splits of 51-42-74 and averaging 13 points per game, Hudson is a big time catch and shoot threat. Once he gets in a college weight room, look for Hudson to be even more confident as a driver and finisher.
