Burnette has jumped over 40 spots in the rankings up to 132 as he made his presence known in the backcourt for Wakefield HS all season long. Before their 2nd round exit to Green Level in the 4A state tournament, he averaged 17.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and 5.6 APG as a consummate distributor as well as leader of the offense as a whole. College programs in the area should be monitoring him closely and looking to him as a late addition in their recruiting classes.

Burnette is the crafty guard running the show over at Wakefield. He finished the night with 10 points. What’s more impressive is he also had 10 assist. He displayed on several occasions his ability to touch the paint and kick out to shooters spaced for three. Defensively, he hounded the opposing ballhandler and finished the night with 3 steals.

Burnette is a Raleigh area guard to have on your watchlist, as he just narrowly missed a triple double by one rebound. He had 17/9/10 vs. Leesville in a dominant win, and his senior season has caught my eye so far. He’s an impressive playmaker who finds teammates with great vision and knows how to make the right play, not the most flashy play. Also an impressive shooter with a quick and fluid release from the perimeter.

Burnette is a name that has been impressive in the Triangle area as a playmaker, notching 30 assists over his teams first 6 game. With an AST/TO ratio of 2.73, he’s shown he can be trusted to take care of the ball and play within himself on a nightly basis. With 2 JuCo offers already under his belt, his play should inspire more to get involved.

Burnette stepped up in a big way to lead Wakefield to a victory over Sanderson High. He finished with an impressive stat line in a comeback victory with 14 points, nine assists, five rebounds, five steals and two blocks as he showed his ability to affect the game in different ways. He’s a strong floor general who knows when to score and when to find others with his sleek passing ability. DII and DIII programs in the region should take notice.

Syncere Burnette Syncere Burnette 6'2" | PG Wakefield | 2024 State NC is an emerging floor general out of Wake County that’s set to lead the way in the backcourt at Wakefield High in 2023-24. He’s been a familiar face in the DB Elite rotation with his fundamentally-sound skill set where he plays under control and with patience to get his guys in spots to make things happen. His most lethal asset though is his ability to knock down shots at volume on the perimeter while still maintaining his ability to facilitate. He holds offers from Fayetteville Tech CC and Pitt Community College.

Burnette showed off his ability to be a 3-point threat and distributor at the point guard spot for Wakefield High. They were in a barn-burner with CB Aycock and though they didn’t come out on top, Burnette showed he could knock down the 3-ball with four made 3-pointers to the tune of 15 points. As he puts that with his ability to be an excellent passer, look for his stock to rise in the 2024 class.
