Watch for these two young men to have a terrific chance to make the USA Basketball Team, while showcasing their abilities on a variety of courts this winter in Western Pennsylvania. This extremely talented performer impressed everyone in the building at the USA Basketball Mini Camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His ability to push the ball up-tempo style on the fast break and finish in the lane was an exceptional trait during competitive game situations. Also, he proved to be an elite mid-range jump shooter who still has the knack to step back at knockdown three-point shots with consistency. Meleek exudes confidence and brings swagger to the court with sound leadership qualities that make him like a coach on the floor for his team. Once he finds something that works in his game, he will work hard to a fault making sure he is as close to perfection as possible for that particular skill. Watch for Meleek to have a great chance to make Team USA and continue to make more collegiate coaches across the country reach out for division 1 offers.
An overall skilled power forward that can score from a variety of spots on the hardwood, not to mention pulling down rebounds on both ends of the court. He is an intimidating force on defense with the ability to block shots consistently. With his improving footwork, Alier can get buckets in the low post, as well as the high post for his team. Having the opportunity to be invited and participate in the mini-camp did nothing but improve this young man’s game. His talent level brings more and more attention from college coaches as his game continues to improve in all facets such as; mid-range jumpers, footwork on the defensive end, consistently making free throws, and having the ability to handle the ball in transition. Look for this solid performer to develop a good chance of being chosen as a member of the USA hoop squad and dominating the local games in the WPIAL while working to lead his team to a championship.
