Basketball Colorado Showcase: Complimentary Guards

With the ball in his hands, he was one of the shiftiest players at the event often looking to step into a jumper. Off the dribble, he shot confidently and made tough shots at a good rate. Off of the ball, Kyelin was a viable catch-and-shoot option.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1178359' first='Domenic' last='Leone'] - Fossil Ridge</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1178359' first='Domenic' last='Leone'] was an impressive combo-guard who showed off his ability to get downhill. Domenic has great size for a guard standing at 6'3 and has a broad frame which allowed him to bully opposing guards. He did a good job efficiently getting downhill with bursts of speed and long strides. At the rim, Domenic showed off his soft touch finishing over and around defender's arms. He also showed off his ability to create for others, driving to the rim to set up teammates for open looks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='973001' first='Sam' last='Scott'] - Denver East</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='973001' first='Sam' last='Scott'] is a quick guard who made an impact on the defensive end. Sam was able to jump passing lanes to start fastbreaks, he often finished these fastbreaks due to his quick speed allowing him to be the first down the floor. Defending on the ball, he caused opponents to turn it over using his quick hands to poke the ball loose. Moving without the ball, Sam is a good slasher who used his quickness to cut by defenders and finish layups at the rim.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jalen Schmieg - Florida Coastal Prep</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jalen Schmieg was a new name to me who is from Colorado and spent his senior season and will be playing a post-grad year at Florida Coastal Prep. Jalen has great height for a guard standing at 6'4 and used that height to hit jump shots over opposing guards. He showed off his consistent jump shooting form making shots both on and off of the dribble. Jalen was able to make concise and quick moves to score when creating for himself. Jalen is a guard that should be on college coaches' radar.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1369850' first='Sawyer' last='Morgan'] - Highland</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1369850' first='Sawyer' last='Morgan'] made a big impact at the event being a consistent scoring option for his team. Sawyer has good height standing at 6'3 which allowed him to finish tough shots through contact at the rim. He had good instincts moving off of the ball cutting and getting to the right spots to grab offensive rebounds. Sawyer will look to make a big impact at the small school Highland this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
