The junior flashed a lot of positive things on Saturday, showing his all around savviness on the floor and impacted the court of both ends. His footwork stands out the most for me, and he gets crafty with it to get past defenders to the basket, being that he’s not the quickest athlete. He’s a physical wing who brings intensity, capable of playing the four spot and did a great job of that at the event. He’ll also surprise you when he steps back for jumpers.
Highlights
Ulsh was a tank when I got to watch him at the Expo. He has a wide-shouldered frame and is a tough task to move off the glass. He positions himself well underneath the rim and uses a classic over-the-shoulder move, creating space and finishing with either hand. At 6’6 and a true post player, he should be on some radars moving forward for his size and big man traits.
Dylan Wiggins
Dylan Wiggins
One of the more versatile frontcourt players who showed up in Bellevue, Dylan Wiggins activity level was off the charts. After a productive summer running with Team Stuck, he brought a lot of the same energy at the PH 250. He’s a big who knows how to crash the glass and outlet quickly. Although he threw away a few of them, he can see the floor and finds ways to push the rock ahead to the guards. He flashed the 3-ball too, and if that can become a regular tool in his chest, he’ll hit another level to his ceiling.
Another old-fashioned back to the basket type big through the day was Gunnar Harroun Gunnar Harroun 6’6″ | PF Tumwater | 2023 WA of Tumwater. The physical post challenger had a great AAU season for Oly Basketball, drawing some buzz and slipping through the cracks a bit. The senior is a pest in the interior and he knows how to use his size to wear others down on the boards or alter shots in the lane. He was active during his stints with his squad, keeping loose balls alive with active hands.
