Prep Hoops Lead Scout

Matos, one of Rhode Island’s most dynamic wings, is a prospect that is full of long-term potential. An athletic and lengthy scorer, Matos does a terrific job of creating scoring opportunities with the ball in his hands. While he’s a capable shooter from behind the arc, his game is at its best when he is getting downhill and scoring at the rim. He has a quick first step and does a great job of utilizing his length as a crafty finisher in the paint. Defensively, his physical gifts stand out as he makes a ton of plays on the ball and in passing lanes where he’s incredibly disruptive with his length. He’s wiry strong and his vertical athleticism pops in spurts, leaving us to believe that he still has another level to reach as a prospect.
