The summer is coming to a close as Labor Day Weekend is right around the corner. Players are getting ready for the first day of school and the upcoming hoops season. The NJ/NY/DE/PA Showcase had a second set of workouts yesterday, where it allowed players to showcase their skillsets. Here are the NJ/NY/DE/PA Showcase 2 standouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='933045' first='Noah' last='Payne'], 6'1 PG Peddie 2024

Payne just reclassified into the class of 2024, and he had a strong showing yesterday at the workouts. The 6'1 guard has a good handle, which he used to get by his defender and finish around the basket. Payne was able to get to his spot on the floor and has a nice release on his jumper. He did a good job of getting his teammates involve in the halfcourt and moved his feet on the defensive end. Payne makes plays with the ball in his hands, which will help him in a big way in 2022-23.

[player_tooltip player_id='1402095' first='Josh' last='Eli'], 6'6 SG Paul VI 2023

Eli showcased his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways during the showcase. The lanky 6'6 wing attacked the basket strong as he finished strong above the rim and drew contact around the basket. Eli rose up nicely on his jumper and made opponents pay for giving him space from behind the arc in the scrimmages. He ripped down rebounds on both ends of the floor and showed the potential to defend multiple positions. Eli is a long, two-way wing who should open eyes this season with his play on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='991231' first='Jacob' last='Beccles'], 6'4 SG Lawrenceville 2023

Beccles was at his best during the scrimmage portions as he showed his ability to score the ball. The 6'4 guard has a quick first step, which he used to blow by his defender and finish at the rim. Beccles was able to create separation off the bounce and consistently drew contact throughout the session. He used his speed to push the pace in the open floor and got a couple of deflections on defense. Beccles excels at getting to the rim, which he should showcase for Lawrenceville this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1156892' first='Devyn' last='Wright-Myles'], 6'3 SG Hamilton West 2024

Wright-Myles made his mark during the showcase as he made plays at both ends of the floor. The athletic 6'3 guard was finishing with authority yesterday as he routinely threw down big flushes during the drills and scrimmages. Wright-Myles moved well without the ball in his hands and used his handle to get by his defender. He has the athleticism to defend both backcourt spots and rarely forced the issue yesterday. Wright-Myles' combination of athleticism and size makes him an intriguing prospect to watch in the 2024 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1456866' first='Ron' last='Richardson'], 6'3 SF Ocean Township 2025

Richardson made plays yesterday as he was able to impact the game in a number of ways. The 6'3 forward used his strong frame to get position down low and finished through contact. Richardson showed off his perimeter skills as well as he knocked down shots from behind the arc and made several nice passes. He fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor and held his ground on the defensive end. Richardson is a physical forward prospect who has the potential to breakout in 2022-23.
