City Rankings: Top 10 Orlando Prospects Regardless Of Class

Prep Hoops is unveiling their city rankings all over the country. It's time for Florida to get in the action as we bounce around the major cities in the state. For the next stop, we'll drive an hour half north up I-4 to visit Orlando. Throw classes out the window as we go through these exercises.    <ol><li>[player_tooltip player_id='812627' first='Edgerrin' last='James Jr.']</li></ol>   With the mass exodus of talent in Orlando, James becomes an obvious pick for the number 1 prospect in the city. His biggest competition is former FL Rebels teammate [player_tooltip player_id='709255' first='Sean' last='Stewart'] left for Montverde in august. One of the EYBL's leading assist men and assist to turnover ratio leaders is now the king in the district of doom. With the addition of another top 10 prospect, James is gearing up to put together a big senior resume worthy of Florida Player Of The Year votes.    <ol start="2"><li>[player_tooltip player_id='1055776' first='Tyler' last='Johnson']</li></ol>   Look for Johnson to take a step forward with Louisville commit Fabio Basili graduating. His size, athleticism, and strength make him one of the best wing prospects in the state. He averaged a shade under 15 points and 5 rebounds a game during Peach Jam. He's a physical two-way player with high major ability. The perimeter defense, 35% shooting from deep on low attempts, and rebounding all point to a breakout junior season.    <ol start="3"><li>[player_tooltip player_id='1055774' first='Isaiah' last='Brown']</li></ol>   Brown's stock is rising every single day. He's received 5 Division 1 offers since the end of July, adding to a growing list of mid-major offers. The athletic combo guard provides high-level two-way play and experience winning on the high school stage. He's another prospect on this list I project to have a breakout season that will continue to fill out his offer list. With subtractions because of transfers and graduations, Brown has a lot of time on the ball to showcase his talents.    <ol start="4"><li>Paul Djobet </li></ol>   West Oaks reloads with high-level prospects through the state every year. This year is no different as 30% of the players on this list will suit up for the national power. Djobet is a 6'6 wing that can score on the block, knock down the corner three, and handle the ball in space. Consistent scoring outputs in the 20s and positional size earned offers Manhattan College, North Carolina A&T University, and a host of mid to high major schools showing interest.     <ol start="5"><li>[player_tooltip player_id='1060171' first='Chris' last='Mubiru']</li></ol>   Mubiru's flashes of athleticism and transition scoring turned to production and Saint John's University and NJIT offers. His 6'4 size, muscular frame, and slashing helped him put up big performances with The Showtime Ballers. He'll have a direct hand in the success of a newly retooled West Oaks Academy.    <ol start="6"><li>[player_tooltip player_id='1055794' first='Jordan' last='Tillery'] </li></ol>   Tillery is the second Oak Ridge High School prospect to make this list, and he won't be the last. He played for Dr. Phillips last year, banging with a team of high major recruits. As a 6'5 wing, he can defend multiple positions, play with a high motor, and shoot the ball well from deep. The transfer will give him a more prominent role in the offense while giving Oak Ridge the state title experience. His overall toughness and physicality will give Oak Ridge one of the best defensive units in the area.    <ol start="7"><li>[player_tooltip player_id='1167935' first='Elijah' last='Elliott']</li></ol>   The 6'4 combo guard has used his automatic pull-up jumper and vision into a Kansas State offer. Several big time performances throughout the summer cemented Elliott as a division 1 recruit. He averaged 5 assists a game during Peach Jam on a loaded 2024 FL Rebels team. His size, quickness, shooting, and playmaking are essential pieces to a team that will challenge for a state title.    <ol start="8"><li>[player_tooltip player_id='812637' first='Greg' last='Spate'] </li></ol>   Spate is blessed with 6'7 size and an intriguing skill set. He shoots it well from deep with his feet set, can knock down jumpers off the bounce, is an excellent slasher, and has the athleticism to make highlights on the break. He holds offers from NJIT and Chicago State. If Spate continues his production at the national level, those won't be his final two by the end of his senior season.     9. [player_tooltip player_id='1301787' first='Jalen' last='Reece']   The fourth Oak Ridge prospect on the list is the youngest player among our ten standouts. The heady play, shooting, and upside he provides make him capable of competing for the top point guard in Florida's 2025 class. He returns as the third leading scorer and team leader in assists at 6.7 a game. The rising sophomore will lead a talented team with two high major offers and a deep run on the EYBL circuit under his belt.    10. The 6'6 sniper left one Orlando powerhouse for another. He's a high-volume three-point shooter with the size to defend several perimeter positions. His addition to the team adds the spacing they'll need for their slashers and big men to operate. Simpson hasn't received the national attention a 6'6 wing that shot over 40% from three should get, but with national events on their schedule, that should change in his time at Oak Ridge.
