Prep Hoops takes a look at some recruiting news and updates from this week in the Palmetto State.
Ta’Seon Johnson (2017) Timberland HS (St Stephen)
Johnson 6’6 post player informed Prep Hoops that he will visit Coker College (SC) -Friday and then take a official visit to Longwood University over the weekend. Johnson is ranked #46 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season. Johnson played AAU with Upward Stars SE the past few summers after starting out with TMP.
Johnson recently played in the South Carolina North-South All-Star Game at Lexington HS last weekend. Johnson averaged 14.5 ppg and 8 rebounds this season for the Wolves.
Marquise Riley
Marquise Riley (2017) Richland Northeast
Riley played just half the season this season for the Cavaliers after getting eligible at the break. Riley averaged 10.1 ppg, 6.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists this year. Riley looks to be headed to Louisburg College (NC) next season. The Hurricanes are a NJCAA D2 program located in Louisburg, NC. Riley is ranked #53 in the Prep Hoops Top 125. Riley played with the Carolina Wolves on the AAU circuit.
Jalen Cameron
Jalen Cameron (2017) West Florence
Cameron fresh off playing in the Carolina Classic NC vs SC Game will take a visit to Radford University this weekend according to Knights Head Coach Pete Ellis. Cameron is ranked #16 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season and is one of the highest available kids left on the market in the Palmetto State.
Cameron a wing player at 6’5 averaged 17.5 ppg, 9.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals this season for the Knights (20-6). Cameron a 4 year starter on the varsity scored 1,530 career points at West Florence. Cameron ran AAU with Team Charlotte last summer.
Ryan Carfley
Ryan Carfley (2018) Marion
Carfley 6’9 post player will play AAU this spring with Garner Road based out of Raleigh, NC. Carfley played last summer with Marion County based Carolina Stampede. Carfley informed Prep Hoops of the move to Garner Road.
Carfley averaged 8 ppg, 6.5 rebounds and 2 blocks this season for the Swamp Foxes.
