About Zach
Expert Analysis
Jared Martinson | Prep Hoops Scout
Wolinski, who’s committed to Wesleyan (CT), has as much an impact on winning as any prospect in the MIAA. Arguably a top 5 guard in Massachusetts, the lefty is an elite shooter from behind the arc, has terrific floor vision, and does a great job of getting to his spots off the bounce. He’s a tough on ball defender that competes on every possession and seemingly reads the play one step ahead of the offense.

Wolinski, a big-time scorer in the MIAA, recently announced his commitment to Wesleyan University. The North Andover product figures to slide over a position at the next level where he can run an offense from the lead guard spot. While he’s put up huge scoring numbers in high school, what stands out about his ability at the next level is his floor vision and feel for playing with and changing paces. Defensively, he’s a strong on-ball defender that loves to compete and more importantly, is a proven winner.

Wolinski passed the 1K mark in a game against rival Andover on January 12th. A true scoring guard, he’s one of the main reasons North Andover is off to an 8-2 start to begin the season. The MVP of this year’s Commonwealth Motor’s Classic, Wolinski can score at all three levels, but is especially dangerous in the mid-range and behind the arc. The lefty is a shotmaker through and through, and maybe more importantly (and impressively), isn’t afraid of the big momement. He’s added an element of playmaking off the bounce this year and is certainly one to keep an eye on the rest of this winter as he aims to help the Scarlet Knights get back to the MIAA Division I Final Four.

Zach had a strong season in the MIAA last year, and has transferred to Philips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. The South Paw is a high level three point shooter, with a quick and smooth shot release. He does not lack confidence shooting. He can play at multiple speeds, and control the tempo of the game. He moves well off the ball, and cuts with a purpose. Can’t wait to see what he does at Philips Andover.

Zach is a fundamentally sounds guard. He is a player with a good assist to turnover ratio. You can trust him running the point for your team. In the tournament he got his teammates involved, communicated on the floor, and was able to create his own shot. On defense he did a good job cutting off angles for the ball handlers to drive in the lane. Zach is a player with a lot of potential.
