When I first watched Rivers I thought he was a developmental big project who had a long way to go, fast-forward about nine months since that time and Rivers has come a long way in terms of consistent production on both ends of the court. Rivers is more confident with the ball in his hands and is grabbing close to double digit rebounds almost every night. I think Rivers is a very intriguing long term bet for a JUCO, Prep or Division III program because with the right development system, the sky is the limit.

I am a big fan of Rivers. He is like an athletic offensive lineman. Looks big but is light. He is a big body that moves light on his feet. He had a very impressive 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks stat line in the Warriors game against Scott. He played hard the whole game and did not let his lack of involvement in the offense stop his effort in the game.

Rivers has improved greatly from when I watched him in the spring to the fall so I expect his growth from last high school season to this one to be huge. Rivers is getting in better shape to run the floor, has improved his hands and skill around the basket. Standing at 6’8, Rivers is one of the tallest players in NW Ohio and is ready to break out for an Emmanuel Christian squad with a lot of talent to compete in Division III this season. Look for Rivers to be a late blooming big who surprises some people this winter.

Rivers has continued to be one of my favorite players and I hope colleges give him a look, he deserves it. Rivers was one of, if not, the bigger kids at the event. This came with advantages and challenges. One of the biggest challenges is he would have to guard smaller players. He did that very well. Used his length to give the quicker guards space but was still able to contest every shot they took with his athletic ability. The advantage that he took for sure was he was dominant whenever he was giving the ball close to the rim. Finishes almost everything download and when teams double he always made the correct kick-out pass.

Rivers was a prospect who looked completely different from what I saw in May. Rivers looked more mobile and athletic and had made clear improvements with his mobility and skill level. Rivers threw down a couple dunks in transition and while he still has a ways to go in terms of skill level, I was very pleased with the progress that Rivers has made in a short time. Rivers is a prospect with a chance to make a big leap due to his size. Watch out for Rivers to take a big step as a senior this winter.

Rivers is a player I found on the Prep Hoops Circuit with legit size and physical upside to be had. Rivers is a large prospect who had some finishes in the paint where he was simply too big to be stopped. Rivers needs to improve his ball skills and conditioning, but has the body to be an effective college basketball player with the right development.
