Continue ReadingDue to a lot of cold weather, holidays, and family I have not gone to many games these last two weeks but I was able to get out to Fremont Ross against St. John’s Jesuit on December 20th as the Titans won 66-46. Then this past Friday night I went to Lourdes for the championship game in the Warriors Classic as Emmanuel Christian won 64-44 over Scott. This article ill cover the top players from those two games.
This kid is NICE. I have always been impressed with Carter but he impressed me the most on Tuesday against the Titans. He was phenomenal. The Walsh commit was just having fun out there it looked like. He was putting on a show. His athletic ability is next level. Super springy and long. He has great confidence in his skills. He is shooting the ball on pull-ups better. His handle seems to be tighter. He has always had great finishing ability and it showed once again. Carter is a very good basketball player.
Highlights
Hornbeak is taking the role of Mr. Do it all for St. John’s this season and he plays that role well. He got off to a slow start on Tuesday night as Fremont Ross started the game box-n-1 on Hornbeak but once they got out of it, it was go time for him. He got to the rim often and invited contact. He has a really good ability to use his momentum to rip the ball attacking the basket. He is looking more confident in his jump shoot. It’s coming off his hand quicker and smoother. He seems to be elevating higher on his shots. You can tell Hornbeak is playing with great confidence right now.
Easter is a high-profile player that has been stuffing the stat sheet so far this season. He did that once again on Friday night against Scott. He scored 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. He was aggressive all night attacking the basket. He got to the rim often and seemed to contact very well when putting pressure on the rim. He used his size very well against a smaller Scott team. He had the gym packed and put on a show.

Scott did not have many bright spots on Friday night against Emmanuel Christian but in the second half when they made the game close for a stretch it all came from Darryl Barnett. Barnett is a strong-looking guard that got the rim very well all night. He is a good athlete and was one of very few Scott players able to finish at the basket. Barnett did a really good job of actually finding the open man when attacking the basket. I really like Barnett and what he showed me against a better Emmanuel Christian team.
I am a big fan of Rivers. He is like an athletic offensive lineman. Looks big but is light. He is a big body that moves light on his feet. He had a very impressive 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks stat line in the Warriors game against Scott. He played hard the whole game and did not let his lack of involvement in the offense stop his effort in the game.
