Stambaugh has always been one of the more talented guards in his class. He impressed once again in the game against DeWitt. He has an impressive ease of movement and hip control. Stambaugh looked REALLY FAST in this game. He showed top notch straight line quickness with the ball and flaunted some impressive blow by speed when attacking the rim off the bounce. Stambaugh’s shooting was on point this game. He came off a down screen for a catch and shoot wing triple and buried another deep 3 off the catch. Stambaugh added another deep 3 from the top.

Going into his 4th varsity campaign, the Olivet commit has been a well-known shooter in the CAAC Red his entire HS career. Now, after losing key scorers Luke Marlan and Kaleb Parrish, Mason will need Stambaugh to step up this season. I believe he will, and will likely put up big time scoring numbers this season and be in contention for best player in the conference.

Stambaugh is a nice combination of ball handler and shooter and he put those skills on display in a win against Pinckney. He finished the game with 21 points and 4 assists.

Stambaugh came in with a reputation as a strong ball handler and he certainly didn’t disappoint. He was able to work off the bounce from anywhere on the perimeter, but looked especially adept off the baseline at the Top 250. Stambaugh was able to use his handles to get by his defenders and finish creatively.

Stambaugh is a name to remember over the coming years. He’s solid with the ball, especially when attacking with his right. Stambaugh has terrific balance which is a big part of a nice pull up jumper that he has on his toolbelt.
