Recruiting Report: Ethan Youso (2018)
At 23-3 Virginia has big hopes for March. Leading the way is junior Ethan Youso who is giving his team 18.6 points per game.
“We’ve had a great season so far, it’s been a lot of fun both on and off the court,” Ethan said. “We’ve improved a ton over the course of the year, and everyone has really filled their roles. We’ve also enjoyed full support from our community.”
The Virginia community loves their team and will be in full support this Thursday when the kick off sections against Duluth Marshall. The 6-foot-8 Youso is an excellent face-up player at his size and his skills continue to grow.
“My all-around game has gotten better, especially my confidence, shooting, and aggressiveness,” Ethan said. “I’ve also improved my athleticism.”
This is the type of game that Ethan expects to display in 7AA as Virginia should handle their sub-section (Greenway and Proctor will be the best competition) before likely facing Esko or Crosby-Ironton in the Section 7AA final.
“We believe we have a chance at the section title if we play our best basketball. We know we’re capable, it’s just a matter of executing.”
NHR spoke with Ethan before he went on his visit to a D1 program last week. He’s hearing from two and has an offer from one NSIC program.
“I’m visiting North Dakota this weekend and I’ve spoken to North Dakota State,” Ethan said. “I also have interest from several NSIC schools, including an offer from University of Minnesota-Duluth.”
