Holland Hargens, Newton North, Class 2022, Position F
Holland was a big part of Newton North’s run to the state tournament finals. Holland did a little bit of everything to help the team. Holland took a bunch of charges in the playoffs, and might have lead the team in charges. Holland is a forward, who can attack the basket and finish well. He is strong, and also rebounds the ball well. Holland is good on both ends of the floor, and also made a bunch of big stops on defense.
Marat Belhouchet, Newton North, Position PG/SG, Class 2022.
Every time Newton North needed a big shot in the tournament, it felt like Marat had the answer. The big games did not look like it fazed him at all. In the biggest game, the state championship game, Marat had 4 three pointers, and 22 points. Marat is known for his three point shooting ability, but he is more than just a shooter. He had 4 steals against Andover, and made three three pointers, to go with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists against Needham. Marat is a sharp shooting, and skilled guard, who proved to be a key part in the Tigers backcourt.
Nate Robertson, Saint Joseph’s Prep, Position PG/SG Class 2023
Nate helped lead the Saint Joseph’s prep team to the division 4 state finals. The team had tough tasks along the way, one of them was trying to figure out how to defend prolific scorer Jaden Greanleaf of Cap Cod Academy. Nate was one of the top scorers for the Saint Joseph’s team, and made a lot big plays. Nate is a skilled guard, who is good out in transition, and in the half court. Nate had multiple games with over 20 points in the tournament.
Mahari Guerrier, BC High, Position G/F Class 2022
Mahari was another big part of the the BC High undefeated state championship run. In the championship game Mahari had a double double with 12 points, and 10 rebounds. He also had another tournament game double double with 12 points, and 16 rebounds. Mahari is a guard with size. He has a good versatile skill set, and he showed that in the tournament. He is an efficient player, and rebounds the ball well.
