Spiva was really good tonight for Westerville Central. He got buckets and was not afraid of the pressure for Westerville North. The best way to handle pressure is by attacking it. This is what Spiva did well tonight. He got to the rim in transition and in the half-court. He has god touch and knows how to use the rim for protection. He is a strong player that contact does not bother him much. Tough kid who fought hard all night.

Spiva was amazing tonight on the defensive end. He started the game with a high amount of pressure and caused a ton of turnovers on the defensive end. He set the tone for the game early and it continued the entire game. He was great in the passing lanes and anticipating the next pass. When he needed to be aggressive on the offensive end he was, and he looked good doing it. He scored the ball at a high level and finished with 21 points. He had 2 nice athletically difficult dunks in transition. He did a good job of absorbing contact in the air and when attacking the rim. He showed off a nice touch when attacking the rim full speed. He made multiple hustle plays and winning plays.

Spiva is a player I would want on my team instantly. He has a high motor with great defensive energy and intensity. He has great length that allows him to apply a ton of pressure and cause many turnovers if you are not strong with the ball. He is someone that disrupts games and can take them over. He also is a good finisher on the offensive end. He does not do too much with the ball and is efficient with his shot attempts.

After a productive summer with Midwest Pumas Gold, helping them qualify for 3SSB finals in Rock Hill, Spiva earned some scholarship interest and will look to add to that this winter.

Spiva did an excellent job of driving, collapsing the defense and kicking it out to an open shooter. Not sure any player had more assists than Spiva did during the 5 on 5 portion of games. His quickness, defensive pressure and open court play was all on display on Saturday. I expect Spiva and

Spiva is a player you want on your team because he is a star in his role. He won’t fill the scoreboard up but he will always have an impact on the game. On the defensive end, he is someone that will lock you down. His lateral quickness and length give him the tools to be a defensive nightmare. He uses a lot of his energy on this end. He is a good talker as well. He creates turnovers and doesn’t let your offense run smoothly. A player coaches will love.

A tough defender, Spiva helped lead his team to a dominant showing in the first session of the camp as his team ran through the competition. With his motor and athleticism, Spiva was making an impact defensively and in transition. Able to get to the lane whenever he wanted to either score or dish to a teammate, Spiva was making it look easy in the open court. For Spiva, his biggest development this fall should be getting a more reliable pull-up jumper as he’s going to be a primary scoring option for Pickerington Central this winter.
