The Purdue Commit is one of the best seniors in the state and will be making his 4th year starting for this Panthers team that has been one of the top teams in Toledo since he got there. He has elite talent that only gets better every time you watch him play. He has great maturity and is someone that has played in the biggest games. He plays with a great pace that does not get sped up. Gets his teammates involved consistently. He will also end the year with one of the highest point-per-game averages in the state. In high school having a good point guard is essential but to have one of the best point guards in the state is something that can take you to championship level. West is a definite Mr. Ohio contender in my mind.

Our highest ranked senior, West Jr is a high major commit playing for one of the top teams in the state. That’s a great recipe to keep yourself in the mix for the award all season. A team that will rely on their strong guard play, the Panthers are coming off a trip to Dayton last season and are looking to make it back. While Colin White won the award from NW Ohio last season, Marc Loving in 2013 is the last Toledo area player to win the award.

This one is pretty simple, West Jr has set a commitment date and will announce between Purdue and Nebraska. One of the top players in the state and has been in the top 5 of our rankings for numerous updates, West Jr took the top spot when Nikola Bundalo left Ohio for Prolific Prep. Whatever Big 10 school gets this guard will be happy with his shot-making ability, overall offensive game, athleticism and potential defensive upside.

One of the top players in Ohio’s 2025 class, West Jr brought a lot of Big 10 coaches to catch his games this weekend. I left impressed with what West Jr showed me with a diverse scoring game. Creating his own looks, he hit some tough shots off the dribble and knocked down some deep shots off the catch. A creative player off the bounce, you get to see more isolation creation with his high school program than you do on the EYBL circuit. Also showing flashes of being an impressive passer, I think his best passing ability is the dribble drive into a skip pass to the opposite corner which he hit a few times this weekend. With so many high major programs in pursuit, expect West Jr to see his recruitment narrow and take shape before a commitment.

for Sunday, it fell on West’s shoulders to carry the burden of running point guard and creating for his teammates. West started the game hot with a corner 3, top of the key 3 and a deep pull-up 3 in the first half. West also had a couple crafty finishes in the paint. As a passer, West had very mixed results on Sunday. Playing against an ultra-athletic Georgia Stars group, West sometimes got in trouble as their length and athleticism forced turnovers. When West didn’t get caught up with two defenders attached to him, he found skip passes to shooters across the court. A solid weekend for West who is establishing himself as a known national name slowly but surely.

West is the best player on this list. He is simply elite. He does everything at an elite level and does a little bit of it all. He has no holes in his games. He has gotten more consistent with his shot and it’s taken his game to another level. He plays the game the right way. He is a score-first guard that can do it from anywhere on the floor. He has a really good midrange pull-up game. He is an elite finisher around the rim. West does a great job of doing it acrobatically. His ability to shoot the ball off the dribble is elite. He is a smooth athlete who continues to get more athletic over the years. He has been fun to watch and develop.
