The 2023 rankings are out.

We dive into the positional rankings. We now look at the shooting guards for the junior class.

Here are the top-7 SG’s in the 2023 class:

[player_tooltip player_id="814036" first="Tru" last="Washington"] Mountain Pointe

One of the top motors on the West Coast gives everything he has each game. He scores it from all three levels, defends the 1-4 for the Pride and uses his athleticism to dunk the ball plus gets on the glass at a high clip for position.

[player_tooltip player_id="814526" first="Ashton" last="Reese"] Pinnacle

The biggest guard on the list had a breakout season. He has a beautiful looking stroke from the 3pt line and has a nasty pull-up from mid-range. His bounce has clearly kicked in this season and it has helped him driving to the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id="831118" first="Emery" last="Young"] Centennial (Pictured)

Another good sized shooting guard is Emery. He has dramatically improved his confidence with the deep ball. He attempted 66 freshman year and attempted 118 this year with a better percentage up to 35%. He still does all the dirty work from defending, rebounding and collecting steals.

[player_tooltip player_id="814525" first="KJ" last="Perry"] Gilbert

An athletic guard flies in transition is that highlight reel on the break. He can guard the 1-3 with his quick twitch reflexes and defensive instincts. He loves the pull-up from mid-range and plays with great energy.

[player_tooltip player_id="1275428" first="Zander" last="Kamai"] Paradise Honors

A lefty shooter can score it from all three levels. He is best off the catch from the arc but has enough wiggle with his handle to create his own offense. He will lead the Panthers in scoring next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1390041" first="Sedrick" last="Nari"] Queen Creek

An athletic guard is just figuring out how to dominate. He is super athletic and is improving as a shooter. The more he plays over the spring and summer, the better off he will be for the AIA season. He will most likely make big strides next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1216716" first="Harrison" last="Reede"] Phhoenix Prep

Another sniper of the group is Harrison. He squares up like you should and fires away. He has an easy stroke to the 3pt line and gets hot quickly. He thinks the game and is a clear floor spacer for the next level. He makes good decisions with the ball.
