Their were 34 new players discovered.
Here are 12 stock risers after the HS season:
Darius Anderson Darius Anderson 6'5" | SF Dysart | 2023 State AZ Dysart +94
A long forward is on the rise. He is our #1 stock riser. He can hit the 3 plus get to the rim with very few strides. He can rebound and defend many high school positions with his length and quickness.
Kolin J. Vance Kolin J. Vance 6'5" | SF Paradise Valley | 2023 State AZ Paradise Valley +84
A long athlete who flies in transition. He can hit perimeter shots, albeit a little streaky. He will block shots and is a good defender on the ball. Once he gets stronger, he may rise up again.
Weston Haebig Weston Haebig 5'10" | CG Sabino | 2023 State AZ Sabino +52
One of the top shooters in Tucson lit it up all year long. He had some huge games including 9 games over 30 points and topped it off with 41 points versus a talented Eastmark. He has a quick trigger and range mixed in with speed and a good feel for the game to score.
Anthony Parise Anthony Parise 6'0" | PG Desert Mountain | 2023 State AZ Desert Mountain +51
The lefty shooter should have a breakout year next season. He has deep 3pt range with a quick trigger and a good passer. He should be a zone buster next year and can play on or off the ball.
Canyon Torres Canyon Torres 6'2" | SG Salpointe Catholic | 2023 State AZ Salpointe Catholic +41
A physical two-way player has been good against top opponents. He defends the best scorers on each team and plays hard. He scores it from all levels and is best touching the paint and scoring through contact.
Caden Hunter Caden Hunter 6'5" | PF Liberty | 2023 State AZ Liberty +38
Not many wer more productive in 6A then Hunter. He was a near double-double each night and comes with an elite motor and sneaky athleticism. He can hit the 3 and uses good post footwork to score inside versus bigger players.
King Turner King Turner 6'5" | PG North Canyon | 2023 State AZ North Canyon +34
A long two-way defensive combo guard does many things well. He gets to the rim with long strides, makes plays for others and is difficult to score on with his wingspan and lateral quickness.
Masai Dean Jr Masai Dean Jr 5'11" | PG Cholla | 2023 State AZ Cholla +32
Dean Jr had a good year in Tucson. I watched some film and he looked bigger, he plays at a good pace, shoots it easily to the 3pt line, has a nice pull-up (best move) and looks more confident now.
Ben Egbo Ben Egbo 6'4" | SF Perry | 2023 State AZ Perry +28
The featured image is a high flyer who made big strides with his game this season. He was always athletic and good on defense, but is now a better shooter from the perimeter and can get to the rim plus is a stud in transition.
Demarion Anderson Demarion Anderson 5'9" | PG Agua Fria | 2023 State AZ Agua Fria +25
Sometimes change is a good thing. That can be said about Demarion. He has full control of the teams offense and sprays the ball around to his teammates. He can break his man down and get to the rim with his speed and tight handle plus hit the 3.
Ashton Reese Ashton Reese 6'5" | SG Pinnacle | 2023 State AZ Pinnacle +20
It is not easy to get into the top-20, let alone the top-15 and Reese did that. I don’t think people know how good this player is yet. He has good size for a guard, he is highly skilled and a better athlete then he appears. His pull-up is pure as well as his catch-3.
Brandon Napier Brandon Napier 6'1" | PG Thatcher | 2023 State AZ Thatcher +17
A pure point guard who loves attacking the basket and will defend on the ball. But he has started shooting the ball better. His ball rotation is looking more polished from the 3pt line and he was more confident with it.
