Niles Notre Dame 2023s Lead The Way
The three prospects we were most looking forward to evaluating in this game were the Notre Dame trio of 2023 prospects. Each one stepped up in their own way contributing to the victory. Sonny Williams Sonny Williams 6'1" | PG International Sports Academy | 2023 OH is a combo guard with a silky smooth handle being able to create off the dribble for acrobatic scores at the cup. Also had a crisp pull up on a cross and pushed well in transition finishing with 10 points. Sherod Dent went to work as an inside/outside threat for the Dons. Face up four that brings floor stretching with a sweet looking lefty stroke. If defenders close to hard he can put it on the deck for crafty finishes with his strong frame. He had 15 points. Bryce Coleman Bryce Coleman 6'6" | SF Proviso East | 2023 State IL is a good sized wing that has strength, versatility, and skill. He displayed that scoring from all three levels in this one on a spin move in the post, pair of threes, and a crisp pull up from mid-range. The jumper was falling for sure for the top 25 junior on the night as he had 13 points while also contributing on the glass. They also as a group played good defense in the first half holding Vernon Hills to only six points.
2024 Center Continues to Emerge
Stefan Cicic Stefan Cicic 7'0" | C Riverside Brookfield | 2024 State IL is a mountain of a man in the paint. Keeps growing and getting stronger every time we see him perform. The sophomore center was assertive with hook shots, drop steps, and dunks. Played with a lot of physicality and skill on the block. Rebounded extremely well in his area throughout the night where he had 13 points.
Vernon Hills Fights Back in Second Half to Make It Game
It would have been easy for Vernon Hills to turn it in at the half after scoring single figures, but they came out firing especially senior guard Justin St. Louis. The shooting guard hit a trio of threes on his way to 14 points. Most intriguing long term prospect for Vernon Hills was probably Milan Raval. The 2023 shooting guard flashed some projectability and athleticism on the perimeter on a spinning layup, three, and some nice passing in a 7 point outing.
