Kreul Classic Rewind

<p>The Kreul Classic wrapped up over the weekend in <strong>Coral Springs </strong>with a string of competitive games. The showcase has been one of the premier basketball tournaments for over 30 years. </p> <p>Let’s jump into some observations...</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="955774" first="Kolby" last="King"] - <em>Pembroke Pines Charter</em></p> <p>2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955774" first="Kolby" last="King"] scored a game-high 25 points and knocked down three 3-pointers in a seven-point victory over Westminster Academy. The 6-foot-2 guard used an electric array of moves to score from all three-levels. Very few prospects have King’s speed and quickness in the open floor. Moreover, he can get to the tin with ease using those qualities. He is committed to <strong>St. John’s</strong>.</p> <p> [player_tooltip player_id="546221" first="Aidan" last="Abell"] - <em>Westminster Academy</em></p> <p>2022 [player_tooltip player_id="546221" first="Aidan" last="Abell"] scored a team-high 22 points and knocked down six 3-pointers against Pembroke Pines Charter. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is one of the best outside playmakers in South Florida. 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1301705" first="Alexander" last="Lloyd"] added 19 points and made four 3-pointers. The 6-foot-3 guard has impressed me with his poise early on this season. <span style="font-size: 1rem;">2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709227" first="Jaylen" last="Carey"] finished with 21 points. Westminster Academy is a dangerous team when firing on all cylinders.</span></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1306059" first="Elijah" last="Duval"] - <em>Martin County </em></p> <p>One of the more impressive performances and wins of the tournament came from 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1306059" first="Elijah" last="Duval"] and Martin County. The 6-foot-3 point guard scored 25 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers against Riviera Prep. The Bulldogs are one of the better teams in Miami-Dade County. Duval paced the Tigers without 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829398" first="Ryan" last="Davis"]. He is looking like one of the better sophomores in South Florida. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="812637" first="Greg" last="Spate"] - <em>Coral Springs</em></p> <p>2023 [player_tooltip player_id="812637" first="Greg" last="Spate"] scored 22 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers in a 11-point victory over <strong>Dwyer</strong>. The 6-foot-6 guard added eight rebounds and three assists. Spate is a big-time prospect with his length and size. He has plenty of athletic ability to run and execute a team’s offense. He is an underrated guard prospect in South Florida. <span style="font-size: 1rem;">Spate holds offers from </span><strong style="font-size: 1rem;">Chicago State</strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;"> and </span><strong style="font-size: 1rem;">NJIT</strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">.  </span></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="962569" first="Kyle" last="McNeal"] - <em>Dwyer </em></p> <p>2023 [player_tooltip player_id="962569" first="Kyle" last="McNeal"] finished with 25 points against Coral Springs. The 6-foot-2 guard is as athletic as any player in South Florida. McNeal is elusive end-to-end with his speed and  strong handle. He is also an electric football player.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"] - Miami Norland</p> <p>2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"] put in a big-time performance against <strong>Dillard</strong>. The 6-foot-6 small forward scored 25 points with great moves off the dribble. Allen has superb athleticism to slash his way to the rim. I like him around the glass to finish off rebounds. Allen simply has too much length and quickness for most players his size.
