Recruiting Report: Jerome Davis (JUCO)
John A Logan CC sophomore power forward Jerome Davis is a wide bodied post that is that has great mobility. He plays with a high motor on the interior. Offensively seals well in the paint and creates space inside. Can get up on occasion for a nice dunk. Defensively he contests shots and is a quality area rebounder. Davis projects as a low-major/D2 prospect.
Davis spoke about his final year at Logan.
“This season I think I have played really hard. I am doing well on the defensive end, rebounding, and getting the points my team needs.”
He broke down his strengths as a prospect.
“My strengths are rebounding well. On the defensive end I can guard multiple positions. Offensively I can hit the mid-range shot and am good around the basket. It really starts on defense getting after it and shot blocking.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I have heard from Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois, UT Martin, and Chicago State.”
He holds offers from Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Martin. Davis broke those down for us beginning with UT Martin.
“The coaches call me and check on me constantly. They show a lot of love to me.”
Eastern Illinois has also extended an offer.
“One of our players last year went there. They are a pretty good program. Their coach contacts me and makes sure I am doing well.”
