Positional breakdowns: Top 2024 PF’s
In this article:
As we continue with the top 2024 PF’s in the state, we get to the power forward position. Make sure to check out the guards and wings that have already been featured.
Sam Johnson Sam Johnson 6'6" | C Worthington Christian | 2024 State OH , 6’6 PF Worthington Christian 2024: Johnson was one of the more productive freshman in the state on a very competitive team. Johnson has a nice stroke from the mid-range and is a good athlete. I thought Johnson played his role well with Worthington Christian, not trying to do too much. With the loss of a majority of their scoring production, I expect Johnson to really break out at the varsity level as a sophomore.
Alex Bruskotter Alex Bruskotter 6'7" | PF Shelby | 2024 State #316 Nation OH , 6’6 PF Shelby 2024: I was intrigued by Bruskotter both times when I watched Shelby in the winter but didn’t get to see him do too much. With C2K, I saw what makes Bruskotter an intriguing prospect. At 6’6, he has a really smooth stroke from the outside and was quite productive on the UAA circuit when I watched him. Bruskotter doesn’t play like a small school prospect at all, it’ll be interesting to see how he steps up with TJ Pugh TJ Pugh 6'6" | SF Shelby | 2021 State OH and Cody Lantz Cody Lantz 6'3" | SG Shelby | 2021 State OH graduating.
AJ McBride AJ McBride 6'5" | SF Moeller | 2024 State OH , 6’6 PF Moeller 2024: A freak athlete, McBride is a bit more raw than either of the first two players mentioned but still has a lot of upside. With the family ties to be a great player at the next level, it’ll be exciting to see how McBride develops over the next couple years. McBride does already hold a few Division I offers though, from St Francis, Northern Kentucky, Radford and Ohio have all offered McBride.
Na’Varion Adams Na’Varion Adams 6'5" | C Westerville North | 2024 State OH , 6’5 PF Walnut Ridge 2024: Walnut Ridge has a nice core developing, highlighted by Adams and Dominique Aekins Dominique Aekins 5'8" | PG Walnut Ridge | 2024 State OH . Adams was fairly productive as a freshman and had a solid summer for All Ohio Red. Adams displayed some impressive physical tools and I think could be a real problem if he grows a couple inches. Adams also has a great motor as he really brings it every time he steps on the court.
