One of the toughest covers on the block in Division III, Johnson has dominated the paint these playoffs. He did everything in his power to try and push Worthington Christian to the elite 8 with 33 points, 8 rebounds and Johnson drew 11 fouls. Getting easy looks in the paint with his size and strength, Johnson seeks out contact. Despite his efficient shooting effort (13/20 FG) Johnson could’ve had a few more buckets as he left a couple baskets at the rim. At the next level, Johnson won’t have the same physical advantage in the paint and will need to be more consistent finishing over length and strength. One thing that you can count on from Johnson, a high motor and toughness. Johnson left it all on the court for one final time and should be remembered as one of the all-time Worthington Christian greats.

Johnson put this team on his back and was incredible. He was a great playmaker in the first half. He was the vocal point of the offense and when the defense collapsed he consistently found the open teammate. Then when this game plan had to stop he started to eat. He got a ton of points off of second-chance baskets. He finished with a game-high 30 points and had at least 10 rebounds. He was a man amongst boys in the paint. He was really physical and just wanted it more the entire game. He showed good leadership as he was always talking to his teammates. He is the senior leader of this team and he just leads them to regionals. Can’t emphasize it enough, he was outstanding.

Johnsons single-handedly won the game for Worthington Christian Friday night. The Warriors were on the road for a chance to win the Central Buckeye League. This type of game is when you lean on your best players to win your games. That is exactly what happened in the 2nd half for Worthington Christian. They called every play for him in the 3rd quarter and that’s when they started to take the game over. He kept them in the game in the first half and then took it over in the 2nd. He was getting the ball deep in the paint and finishing through contact. He was getting every single rebound. Johnson had one of the few games I have ever seen be won by one player.

Johnson was the most important player for Worthington Christian’s big-time road conference win on Friday night. He was unstoppable at times when around the rim, especially in the 4th. When the game got close he made decisive and strong moves that got him to the rim to finish. He had 22 points and all of them came in the paint or at the free-throw line. He got to the free throw line often because the other team couldn’t stop him so they fouled him. He is a really good athlete with good ball handling. He can slash to the rim grab the rebound and go coast to coast. Relentless rebounder. Johnson put the team on his back on Friday. Showed great competitor characteristics along with being a great teammate.

The Cedarville commit was active in the paint and used his strength to lead the game in scoring with a high motor effort. Johnson went hard all game using his body and going into contact to either score or draw free throw attempts. While Johnson showed the confidence to shoot from the outside, his jumper wasn’t falling on Monday. After a few misses early, Johnson went back to looking to score in the paint and did so effectively. A player who found a nice fit at the next level, Johnson will look to lead Worthington Christian to a district title before moving on to play at the next level.

Johnson was a prospect I haven’t seen play in almost a year after not being able to catch a Worthington Christian game this winter. Johnson has gotten stronger since the last time I saw him and was overpowering defenders in the paint. Sometimes struggling to finish at the rim, Johnson wasn’t struggling to be physical in the paint and get shots up near the paint. A needed addition to Nova’s 17 U squad, his height and toughness was needed to guard opposing bigs and rebound. Johnson also flashed some shooting ability with a couple mid-range shots and time and space 3-pointers. Nova’s 17 U squad has been impressing on the UA Rise circuit this spring and Johnson is one of a handful of prospects for small college programs to be checking out.

Johnson was arguably the best prospect on display at the event. Great size and moves well for a PF. Can stretch the floor if pushed outside the paint, or can seal guys on the blocks. Shows his hands and can work over his shoulder. Rebounds the ball at a high level. Johnson is undersized for a PF, but has the physicality and energy to be a scholarship prospect nonetheless.
