Dekwon Brown Dekwon Brown 6'4" | PG Simeon | 2024 #273 Nation IL (Limestone)
Brown more than lived up to his ranking as a top 10 prospect with his play at Pangos. The Limestone explosive point guard is a straight bucket getter. He is more of a scorer that can net points from all three levels with explosive burst getting downhill where he has a tremendous knack for finishing through contact. Shot it about as well as we have seen draining triples in bunches especially in the top 30 game. What we liked was the flashes we saw of him as a distributor. Wrap around passes inside and just an overall improved feel. Potential mid-major/high-major guy.
Jaedin Reyna Jaedin Reyna 6'0" | PG Bishop Noll | 2024 State IN (St. Rita)
Reyna came into the camp as the top ranked point guard and did nothing to lose that distinction. He wasn’t spectacular, but rather rock solid. Jumper was a little streaky at times so he got others involved with his off the charts IQ, pushed in the open floor, and made sound decisions as a distributor getting others involved. High-major prospect early in process.
Damon Davis (Whitney Young)
Davis had a breakout weekend. He emerged with a strong showing behind his shooting consistency. The 5’11” lead guard was on point with his mid-range game along with draining crisp threes off the bounce. Loved the poise that he played with which is no surprise with his two older brothers being high level prospects.
Andre Blakley (Larkin)
Blakley is a combo that can really heat up. He is a microwave scorer from the lead guard position that has shifty handles where he can create off the bounce getting into the teeth of the D along with having range to beyond the arc on his three point shot. Low-majors and mid-majors might be wise to take an early look.
Max Johnson Max Johnson 5'10" | PG Oak Park River Forest | 2024 State IL (OPRF)
Johnson shined during the spring and summer with the Mac Irvin Fire. He had a really nice showing at Pangos as well. He got going when his opponent started talking smack and that seemed to ignite him. Drained an array of threes and used his creative ball handling getting in the lane for scores. Fun player to watch that should emerge this year for OPRF.
Eric Johnson (Homewood Flossmoor)
This 6’1” point guard from HF emerged at the camp based on his ability to win off the bounce. He has good length for his size and shot it very well pulling up from beyond the arc.
Bryce Welch Bryce Welch 6'2" | PG Naperville North | 2024 State IL (Naperville North)
Welch was just ultra smooth each and every time we saw him play. At 5’10” he seemed to just glide on the court with the way he got wherever he wanted draining pull up triples and dishing to teammates when in the heart of the defense.
Edwon Duling (Oak Forest)
At 6’1” this Oak Forest point guard is a crisp ball handler and makes sound reads with the rock. Brings some toughness and rebounding from his guard spot.
Cale Cosme (Brother Rice)
Cosme is only 5’3”, but he has game! He is an excellent ball handler that gets in the lane and gets others involved with his creative passing. Very good distributor that can hit mid-range shots and even surprises with some layups through the trees at times.
Caleb Chavers (Homewood Flossmoor)
Chavers put his name on our radar at 5’10” with a nice showing at Pangos. Good length allows him to play taller than his height, but it was his shot making that made us take notice as he was a master of the mid-range and capable of stretching it to three.
Antoine Glasper Antoine Glasper 6'0" | SG Collins | 2024 FL (Collins)
Glasper showed better in the game that my colleague Steve Parham saw. Slick ball handler that has a chance to be a go to scoring combo guard.
Brendan Berman (Latin)
Berman is a 6’1” combo guard that brought grit and three point shooting to the table. He made an array of threes in the game we saw him play on Sunday.
Quentin Mccoy Quentin Mccoy 6'2" | PG Lindblom | 2024 State IL (Lindblom)
McCoy lit up the nets when we saw him in his last of the regular games. Really like how he operates in the transition game constantly pushing the pace with his head up to make a pass while still having the ability to find a crease in the D to get to the rack. Range on his shot to beyond the arc is one of his strengths as well especially off the bounce.
Jonathan Calmese (Farragut)
This 6’0” combo guard from Farragut made a name at the camp earning an invite to the top 60 camp. Length plays well on both ends as he was disruptive on defense and showed flashes as a shooter.
Damarcius Royster (Brother Rice)
Another Brother Rice guard here. The 6’0” point guard threaded the needle several times with his passing including in the open floor.
Reggie Ray Reggie Ray 6'2" | PG St. Ignatius | 2024 State IL (St. Ignatius)
Ray is a future standout to track in the Chicago Catholic League. Big bodied combo guard that knows how to use his physicality to his advantage. Kid that plays hard and has some skill potential down the line.
Levi Goad Levi Goad 6'2" | PG Prairie Central | 2024 State IL (Prairie Central)
Point guard who stands at 6’1”. He is shifty with the rock in his hands, slippery on drives, and displayed some passing feel. One to track.
