Fall sports are getting into the swing of things, but that does not mean there can’t be excitement for the hoops season. The forward crop in the Garden State is loaded with talent and it has a good group of under the radar prospects set for a leap in the rankings. Here are the top under the radar forwards ready to rise up in the next update.

[player_tooltip player_id="1013060" first="Logan" last="Blake"], 6’6 SF/PF Delaware Valley 2022

Blake had a strong summer with the NJ Panthers and it should translate into this season. The 6’6 forward has a good feel for the game as he can pass out of the post and can get position down low. Blake has a nice touch around the basket and can finish through contact. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Blake is a versatile forward prospect who should have a big senior season for Delaware Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id="1206534" first="Jackson" last="Tindall"], 6’7 SF St. Peter’s Prep 2023

Tindall is an intriguing prospect to watch in North Jersey and has the potential to have a big junior season. The 6’7 wing has a good release on his jumper and does not waste a ton of movement in his shot. Tindall is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish above the rim. He is a strong rebounder and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Tindall is a sweet-shooting wing prospect who should have a strong 2021-22 season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1213554" first="Brandon" last="Benjamin"], 6’7 PF Bergen Catholic 2024

Benjamin is a breakout contender in Bergen County as he gets more touches in his second varsity season. The 6’7 forward has a nice touch around the basket and can draw contact close to the rim. Benjamin can handle the ball on the perimeter and has shown the ability to bring the ball up the court. He attacks the glass with a purpose and uses his length to altar shots around the basket. Benjamin is a forward prospect to watch this season as he gets more opportunities on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="900305" first="Philip" last="Urban"], 6’6 SF Pennington 2022

Urban missed most of the summer due to injury and is looking to make the most of his final varsity season. The 6’6 wing is at his best attacking the basket as he can finish above the rim and draw contact. Urban can also knock down jumpers from distance and has a nice release on his shot. He is a good rebounder and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Urban has the chance to make a move up the rankings if he can stay healthy this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="902742" first="Delroy" last="Smith"], 6’7 PF Elizabeth 2023

Smith is an intriguing prospect to watch in Union County this season as he has the potential to breakout. The 6’7 forward is tough to box out on both ends of the floor as he constantly fights for rebounds. Smith has a nice shooting stroke and his range extends out to the three-point line. He is a good post defender and can score around the basket. Smith should be getting more looks on offense for Elizabeth, which should lead to a breakout 2021-22 season.
