2024 Ranked Players 22-25

<p>An exciting group of players make up the initial 2024 rankings. The short list omits some small school players who made their varsity debuts as freshmen. And it leaves off some big school guys who were really impressive on the club scene. Those players will have a chance to join the list, and to move up dramatically as the 2024 class sorts itself out.</p> <p>But for now, here are the players who merited ranking 22-25 in the first version of the 2024 ranking:</p> <p>22 [player_tooltip player_id="1270302" first="BJ" last="Canady"], 6-foot-5 power forward, Topeka HS:</p> <p>Canady is an impressive specimen who is still finding his fit as an athlete. He was starting quarterback for the Trojans last fall, but has since moved to defensive end and split end. The same can be said about his debut on the court. He has such immense size and yet is an agile and coordinated big man. He had some double-digit performances, but will continue to find himself as he develops his skills. The summer with Run GMC helped his development immensely.</p> <p>23 [player_tooltip player_id="1269981" first="Spencer" last="Coup"], 5-foot-10 combo guard, Solomon HS:</p> <p>Coup joined some other really talented guards at Solomon, and the three meshed. Coup played mostly an off-guard role, shooting from deep and helping handle full-court pressure. He scored 8.3 points and dished out 2.7 assists as a ninth grader. He also pulled down 3.7 rebounds and registered 1.8 steals per outing. This summer he played more point guard and showed he knows how to quarterback an offense.</p> <p>24 [player_tooltip player_id="1270303" first="Teagan" last="Charles"], 6-foot-5 small forward, Kapaun (pictured jumping):</p> <p>Charles was an important piece of the Wichita Trinity High School team a year ago. But he’ll be joining a really stacked Kapaun program, so we’ll see what his role looks like this fall. He’s versatile and can play just about every position on the court. He’s long and athletic, runs the floor and can make plays on the move and at the rim. He’s a good ball handler for his size and looks to be able to play on the perimeter or the post.</p> <p>25 [player_tooltip player_id="1270304" first="Ethan" last="Rowan"], 6-foot-1 combo guard, Central Heights:</p> <p>Statistically speaking, Rowan had one of the most productive freshman seasons of anyone in the state. He finished with 9.8 points, 4.9 boards, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals as a ninth grader. He topped 20 points twice, and had very few games where he scored fewer than 8 points. He dialed in his 3-point stroke as the season went along, and by the end of the season, he had several with three, four and even five 3’s in a game. He was also very consistent on the boards.</p>
