The 2023 rankings continue to show how vast the talent is in the state of North Carolina. Here’s a look at Part I of the Stock Rising Bigs in the 2023 rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="1117616" first="Aaron" last="Hall"] | Northside Christian Academy

from No. 77 to No. 40

Hall finds himself inside the top 40, as the No. 40 prospect in the 2023 class following a productive grassroots season with Team United. He’s an explosive big man with nice footwork and ability to finish around the rim. As he shows his prowess as a rim protector, look for more teams to jump on him with an offer already from Radford.

[player_tooltip player_id="1168305" first="James" last="Scott"] | Seventy-First

from No. 51 to No. 45

Scott is ironically one of the more underrecruited names in the 2023 class despite his size and talent at 6-foot-9. He’s got the ability to finish with authority, handle the ball and create his own shot on the perimeter as well as he approaches his junior year. He’s another name to keep an eye on over at Seventy-First High in Fayetteville.

[player_tooltip player_id="959479" first="Donovan" last="Raymond"] | West Charlotte

from No. 135 to No. 55

Raymond is a 6-foot-9 prospect with his best basketball ahead of him after averaging 7.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 3.6 bpg during the Covid-19 riddled 2020-21 season. He’s a big man that’s flown under the radar a bit these past few seasons but the 2021-22 season should put him on the map as one of the top bigs to know in the 2023 class soon enough.

[player_tooltip player_id="1110452" first="Kahlif" last="Barnes"] | Piedmont Classical

from No. 157 to No. 74

Barnes is another prospect that’s seen his stock climb as we’ve seen more of him this past grassroots season. He’s a mobile big man at 6-foot-7 that does well to find his spots on the interior to clean up the glass and make an impact and move on the perimeter and show off his range as a stretch-4 option. He’s a prospect due for a solid 2021-22 season at Piedmont Classical.

[player_tooltip player_id="1027995" first="Jaydin" last="Spillman-Martin"] | Calvary Day School

from No. 86 to No. 76

Spillman-Martin is set to make his presence felt on both ends in the Calvary Day School rotation after moving on from Winston-Salem Christian. He’s another versatile stretch-forward type that can create his own shots on the perimeter and get to the paint and finish with his length. As he fills out his strength, look for his recruitment to grow in 2021-22.
