Maurice Davis | 2023 | GABL Future Hoisington
Davis was a true student of the game. He was always analyzing the defense and never rushed his decisions. He let the game come to him. He always made the extra pass and was getting his teammates the ball at the right time. He was doing all the little things right like cutting hard to the rim, setting good screens, just doing whatever to help his team win.
Taye Moore Taye Moore 5'9" | PG Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Nebraska United 2024
Moore is a very underrated prospect in his class. He is hands down one of the best players on the court when he is playing. This kid is a lights out shooter from deep. He’s so crafty with his dribble combos and finishes at the rim. With a nice handle he gets by his defenders so easy and can finish in a variety of ways at the rim. He’s a scrappy defender and is all over the place. Moore is a very athletic guard and has definitely bumped up his stock a lot this summer.
Jack Shoen | 2024 | Sixers Supreme
Jack Shoen was a very smooth and balanced lefty guard. He can do it all at the point guard spot. Real nice lefty jumper that converted a lot. He was always ready for a pass from his teammate with his feet set and hands ready. Very under control ball handler, never let pressure get to him and always kept his cool. He can create space and generate offense for his team and on the defensive end was staying tight on his man and getting his hand in passing lanes.
Lance Bassett | 2023 | Kansas Hoggs
Bassett has a great frame to be a dominant big in the future. He’s got great footwork and strength in the post. Utilized his quick spin move a decent amount and was successful with it. He’s got great vision for a big man, ran the floor extremely well, and filled lanes in transition. He can find a lane to the rim from the perimeter and was a grinder on the boards both offensively and defensively.
Will Mlynek Will Mlynek 6'9" | C Free State | 2023 State KS | 2023 | Kansas Hoggs
Mlynek can play. He showed to be a very consistent finisher at the rim and used his size as his advantage. He was a tenacious rebounder for a very big Kansas Hoggs team. Played on the perimeter a lot and knocked down some jumpers. Very unselfish player who gives the ball up at the right time. Overall showed out to be a very versatile player.
Tasean Williams | 2024 | PNP 2024
I wrote about this kid on Thursday already but Tasean is a diamond in the rough. He pushed the pace very well for PNP but kept it under control. Williams is a quick one guard with a lethal first step. He can create on the offensive end so well. He makes up so much ground on his drives, defenders can’t keep up. He’s very unselfish for a finishing point guard though. He’s very developed for his age and will continue to improve.
BJ Redic BJ Redic 6'2" | SF Andover | 2023 State KS | 2023 | OZ Elite 2023 Haynes
BJ Redic BJ Redic 6'2" | SF Andover | 2023 State KS is a human highlight reel. The do it all guard stands at 6’3 but plays like he is 6’7. Very athletic and aggressive player who can score at will. He’s got a very nice frame and can dominate from the perimeter or in the paint. He’s got a great outside jumper and converts consistently. The thing about BJ’s game that stood out to me is his iq to recognize the smaller guards and immediately post them up and finish strong at the rim. One of the most athletic players at 2021 MAYB Nationals.
Audric Bermels | 2024 | NBDA White
Bermels was easily one of the biggest deep ball threats I got to watch this weekend. This kid is automatic from beyond the arc. He was hitting shots off the dribble, coming off a screen, or via a set play ran for him. He never forced anything though and always took high percentage shots. If his shot wasn’t there he kicked it to a teammate and continued to work to get himself open.
