put on a show in the first quarter. The savvy senior just kept getting to his spots with efficiency and he scored all 21 of the Wildcats points. Jackson then had another two to start the second quarter, making him responsible for 23 straight points! Valley threw multiple defenders at him the rest of the night, but he continued to get to the cup and also had some slick assists. Near the end of the 4th quarter he hit some much needed free throws and Las Vegas got the rivalry game win. It was a clutch performance and incredibly fun to watch.

left it all on the court on Saturday. He put forth a valiant effort, and had the Wildcats in a very tight game with one of the top teams in the state (Mojave). I was impressed with how he attacked some very athletic guards, and he had a decent amount of success. Jackson also played hard on defense and had a block.

has been giving it his all this season. The Wildcats floor general is a consistent facilitator on offense, and has been averaging 22.2 PPG, along with 3.7 assists. Another solid stat of his is that he is averaging under two turnovers per game (1.7). Considering how often he has the ball, and how often he’s getting pressured, it’s great to see.

had an impressive game in Las Vegas’ matchup with Alta. He consistently burned his guy and got to the rack. He hit some 3-Pointers from a couple feet beyond the line as well. I also liked how hard he tried on defense. He was seeking steals in transition and had more than a couple nice deflections.

Unfortunately Jackson recently broke his hand, but the good news is that he will be back on the court next week. With all of the shooting that Las Vegas has this season, that should open things up for Jackson when he chooses to drive. However if help comes, he has good awareness and is able to dish it to his teammates in the corner. Expect him to put up eye-popping numbers again this year.

Perhaps the only person that could stand in the way of Jackson’s scoring is himself. Vegas typically runs a disciplined system, which combined with the PG’s unselfishness, may limit his shot attempts. When he does shoot it, Jackson is lights out, with blinding ball speed and the ability to change the scoreboard in transition, or from behind the arc.

Jackson’s talents aren’t just limited to the hardwood. The dynamic guard can also do it in the classroom. He hovers in the high threes, and is the perfect fit for several high Academic schools like Colorado College that has sent coaches out to see him.

Jackson waa marvelous during his high school season however he’s proved that he has all the tools to be a dynamic PG at the college basketball level. His best perfomance was leading his Wildcat team to a section 7 bracket title.

The talk for the next 12 months will be about what if any level small guards can have success at. Much of this will be because of the play of Jackson. The diminutive PG was awesome. He defended, showed elite shot making ability, and led his squad in assist. Behind his play the Wildcats took home the Asset Prevention Tax Bracket Championship.
