Zach Grandgenett | OSA National Padilla 16U
I mentioned the sloppy finishing on Friday in the defensive standouts article, but Grandgenett was an exception to that. The Millard West guard had several crafty finishes where he slithered through traffic in the lane to finish at odd angles. He started the game shooting well, and he used to that punish late closeouts by putting the ball on the floor and attacking hard.

Grandgenett’s teammate was also one of the few who finished well on the day. He was decisive in his drives to the lane, most of them occurring quickly after catching the pass. Once in the lane, he had no issue taking and dealing contact. He met the bigs with an equal force and used his strength to carve out space for himself. His touch around the rim stood out, as he banked in a few from angles that I did not expect him to successfully score from.
Teriyon Griggs | Sal Elite 17U
The Omaha South senior has loads of experience, and he plays with a confidence and sureness that rubs off on his teammates. He read the floor quickly on Friday, whether he was attacking in transition or directing offense in the half court. The decisions he made were usually the correct ones, and more importantly they were made quickly and confidently. It wasn’t his best day scoring in the lane. He is usually much better scoring around size, but today he wasn’t able to consistently dial up the right spin and angle. He made it easy on himself, though, with excellent cutting away from the ball which led to easy looks for him and his teammates.
Hayden Frank | Lincoln Supreme National II 16U
If the only positive thing Frank did on offense today was his screening, he would still make this list. He had a handful of brutal screens that left the defender shaking his head after the fact, several of which led directly or indirectly to makes at the rim. But it was not just the screening. He knocked down a few spot-up threes all around the perimeter, and knocked down a nice midrange pullup just to put the cherry on top.
