[player_tooltip player_id="1172862" first="Johnnie" last="Reed"] - Windsor - 24’

At 6’4, [player_tooltip player_id="1172862" first="Johnnie" last="Reed"] puts everything he has on the court for a tenacious Windsor High School team. He is one of those utility players who is simply dependable doing the little things that most players could not be bothered to do. Multiple times, Reed put his body on the line just to get his team an advantage. Whether it was diving for a loose ball or fighting for rebounds, Reed made sure to maximize his body to create any advantage. Like many other young prospects, Reed’s jumper could use some more work, luckily he has a few more years to hone such a teachable skill.

[player_tooltip player_id="1168989" first="Andrew" last="Crawford"] - ThunderRidge - 24’

The 6’5 wing has a knack for blocking shots due to his lengthy frame and timing. Crawford will be an interesting piece for years to come on a very tall ThunderRidge team. Defensive versatility is one word that comes to mind with Crawford. He strikes me as more of a an above average helpside defender rather than a point of attack defender right now. Either way, going into the season ThunderRidge will be tough team to beat.

Kaylan Graham - Smoky Hill - 25’

The youngest player in the article, Graham is a skinny 6’1 guard who proved himself as a legitimate athlete. His role was limited in his games since it was his first time playing for a varsity Smoky Hill team. However, before seeing him long, it was clear that Graham is light on his feet and makes use of his wingspan to deter opponents. He is still adjusting to the pace and size of Varsity opponents, but is a player worth keeping an eye on going forward due to the impact from his athletic prowess.

[player_tooltip player_id="972414" first="David" last="Hageman"] - Windsor - 23’ (pictured above)

Hageman is a twitchy 6’3 point guard who can overwhelm defenders with his speedy array of in-and-outs and crosses. Hageman makes his living inside the arc, where he can quickly change speeds to reel the defense out of position. Transition is where Hageman shines, often displaying instinctual creativity while finding ways to the rim. On one particular drive against Columbine, he hit the defender with a vicious euro-step that gave him a wide open look. Defensively, Hageman can hang with just about any guard as he has the dangerous combination of quick footspeed and long arms. One trait I would like to see more from him is his decision making ability when finding teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id="1168193" first="Joseph" last="Garcia"] - Denver South - 23’

Garcia is a lights out shooter who can get hot in the blink of an eye. Playing the lead guard for South, Garcia made a living off of perimeter jumpers regardless of whether they were contested. Garcia may only be 5’10, but at 165 pounds he uses his size to turn the corner on defenders for easy layups. Make sure to keep an eye on Garcia, if you catch him the right night you will have a dazzling display of shot-making the whole evening.
