The Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GBCA) will begin June 18th-20th (Session 1) and June 25-27th at the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia. The complex features 12 courts that will host approximately 144 high school teams per weekend.

Let’s take a look at some of the players/schools from Florida participating...

[player_tooltip player_id="814920" first="Fabio" last="Basili"] - Oak Ridge

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="814920" first="Fabio" last="Basili"] is an electric ball handler with elite vision. The 6-foot-3 guard can switch gears with the rock in his hand and leave defenders flat-footed. Basili can dictate the tempo with his athleticism an get to the rim. Furthermore, his passing ability is strong in transition and in the halfcourt. As a junior, he averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the field. Moreover, Basili went 29-of-65 (45 percent) from deep. He holds offers from SMU and TCU.

[player_tooltip player_id="1164245" first="Jason" last="Jackson"] - Oak Ridge

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1164245" first="Jason" last="Jackson"] joins Oak Ridge after playing for Riverview Sarasota last season. With the Rams, the 6-foot-4 combo guard averaged 9.9 points, three rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.6 steals per game. Jackson is tough to stop when he gets a head of steam towards the rim. His quickness and explosiveness will likely result in a dunk that brings the gym down. Furthermore, Jackson can really get up and leave his opponent on a poster. He already holds offers from Florida, Penn State, LSU and Virginia Tech. The Pioneers also have a talented transfer in [player_tooltip player_id="1055776" first="Tyler" last="Johnson"]. The 6-foot-4 small forward joins Oak Ridge after playing for Apopka High School. Johnson is one of the Orlando area’s best players to watch next season. Head coach Steven Reece will also have his son, 2025 Jalen Reece, joining a talented team. Oak Ridge went 22-3 last season before falling to Dr. Phillips in the Class 7A final four.

[player_tooltip player_id="962588" first="Greg" last="Maxwell"]/[player_tooltip player_id="956822" first="Ashton" last="Lovette"] - Trinity Catholic (Ocala)

The Celtics bring in a pair of talented transfers in [player_tooltip player_id="962588" first="Greg" last="Maxwell"] (P.K. Yonge) and [player_tooltip player_id="956822" first="Ashton" last="Lovette"] (Saint Francis Catholic). Maxwell is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard with unlimited range to score in bunches. He recently scored 29 and 27 points in two victories at the Sante Fe Team Camp. Lovette is a 6-foot-5 guard with high level size and athleticism. He averaged 19.5 points and 9.2 rebounds for Saint Francis Catholic last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="956773" first="Warner" last="Davis"] - Miami Palmetto

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="956773" first="Warner" last="Davis"] is a name I’m very familiar with having covered the South Florida area. The 6-foot-1 guard has a shooters mentality and backs it up with high efficiency. Davis went 20-of-50 (40 percent) from deep across six games. Against Braddock, he scored 37 points and hit seven 3-pointers. Overall, Davis shot 50 percent from the field and 89 percent form the free-throw line. He has a good amount of athleticism to create his own shot and get to the rim. 2022 Nick Pineryo is also a name to know on the Panthers. The 5-foot-11 guard averaged nearly 18 points per game and knocked down 39 percent of his 3-point attempts.

[player_tooltip player_id="1069620" first="Marcus" last="Allen"] - Miami Norland

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1069620" first="Marcus" last="Allen"] might be the best player at this event. I might be a bit biased but the facts speak for themselves. The 6-foot-6 wing is an elite athlete with a long stride to beat his defender off the dribble. Allen averaged 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor last season. He is tough to stop with his length when he gets inside the paint. Allen holds an offer from Florida State. In addition, I think this is a spot where [player_tooltip player_id="955802" first="Cameron" last="Johnson"] can really shine. The 6-foot-4 wing led the Vikings with 15.1 points while shooting 57 percent from the floor. Johnson also grabbed 133 rebounds thanks to his length. I think he has a lot to show given his versatility. Do not miss [player_tooltip player_id="709246" first="Carl" last="Parrish"] on the floor, either. The 6-foot-1 guard can stretch out a defense with his 3-point shot. Parrish averaged 7.3 points per game and hit 50 3-pointers for Norland last season.

For any South Florida Prep Hoops news or information...please contact Michael Costeines @Steins_23 on Instagram or follow him on Twitter @Mungertown_Mike23.
