It’s always great to see prospects getting offers from various programs. South Florida has been particularly buzzing with players attending different camps.

Let’s take a look at the latest...

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709227" first="Jaylen" last="Carey"] picked up an offer from Florida Gulf Coast. The 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward joined his Westminster Academy teammates at the university’s team camp this past week. To be honest, I’m surprised more offers have yet to come for him. Carey is a game-changer on the low block while continuing to extend his game beyond 15 feet. His footwork is something that will be difficult to stop when you factor in his size. I think he is the best player around when you account for his durability at the position. 2022 wing [player_tooltip player_id="814984" first="Rickey" last="Ballard"] also had a nice showing at the camp with 25 points, seven assists, five rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Interests could be turning into offers soon for him.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709245" first="Jasai" last="Miles"] also picked up an offer from Florida Gulf Coast. The Miami Country Day star is a handle to stop in the open floor with his 6-foot-6 frame. Miles is quick and can get to the basket with his athleticism. I think his development as a shooter will only improve into his junior season. Miles has as bright of a future as any prospect in the South Florida area.

Things have been really picking up for [player_tooltip player_id="709215" first="Marvel" last="Allen"] over the past several weeks. The 2023 combo guard earned offers from Miami, Penn State and Stanford since May 21st. The 4-star recruit already held offers from Illinois, USF, Virginia Tech and LSU. Allen is a compact, physical lead guard at 6-foot-4. Moreover, I think his change of pace is difficult to contain when you factor in his frame. Allen can use his athleticism in a flash to attack the rim while carving out space with his big body. He can also pass off the dribble and find his teammates on the perimeter. Allen continues to morph as an overall playmaker in the backcourt.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955771" first="Andrew" last="Akuchie"] picked up a nice offer from Rice University. The 6-foot-9 forward also picked up an offer from the University of Albany at the beginning of May. Akuchie’s progression has been really impressive from his freshman season until now. I think his confidence and overall athleticism has increased ten-fold. Akuchie has natural athleticism without putting himself in bad position. He can be patient as a defender and avoid unnecessary contact. Akuchie is almost like a big point guard with his IQ on the court.

2022 Gabe Kincy picked up a huge offer from Virginia Commonwealth on June 12th. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound wing recently transferred from McArthur to Miramar. Kincy is a well-developed athlete with range out to the perimeter. His ability to spread the floor at his size is difficult to game plan for. He will only become more problematic when he puts the ball on the floor and attacks the rim. While Kincy can already do that; it will ensure his versatility as a big wing. His teammate, [player_tooltip player_id="814914" first="Deshawn" last="Jean-Charles"], also picked up an offer from Missouri State University on the same day. The 2022 wing is very athletic in space and finishes well in transition. Jean-Charles also received offers from North Carolina A&T, Samford, Texas Southern and Bradley.
